Dear Friends of CISP,

We are grateful to God for His faithfulness in bringing us through another school year.

We were especially blessed this spring that COVID-19 restrictions were lifted. We were able to resume a number of activities that we have not been able to have for a very long time. It has been a joy to reconnect with our school community.

Jodi Oppenhuizen,
Director of CISP

IN THIS NEWSLETTER

ALL SCHOOL FIELD DAY

On the 18th of June, we held an all school field day. The students were divided into groups and had many different activities to enjoy. Middle and high schoolers oversaw the stations and taught the elementary students each activity. Some activities included were an obstacle course, chalk art, face painting, cornhole and soccer golf.
For the secondary students, the day ended in the chapel. Our Principal, Kevin Moos' son and Jair Mobley, a CISP alumni who now attends Cedarville University in Ohio shared about life after high school. Jair brought some of his friends from university and led our students in worship.

ELEMENTARY SPRING CONCERT

Our elementary music teacher, Allison Foreman, prepared a great spring concert this year. The students had been practicing since their Christmas concert and sang many fun songs like My Hands Belong to Your, It’s Raining Tacos and Trustin’ God. Despite the heat that day, the parents and staff enjoyed listening to our students who did a great job!

ELEMENTARY ADVENTURE ACTIVITY WEEK

Due to Covid-19 challenges we were unable to do our annual elementary swim camp this year. However, we took this change in plans in stride, and planned a series of field trips and labelled it Elementary Adventure Activity Week! Over the course of 6 days we went on different excursions including: climbing at a high ropes course, a nature scavenger hunt at a nature reserve, exploring an amusement centre, jumping our hearts out at a hop arena, making chocolate at a chocolate factory, enduring the rainy weather with a pyjama movie party, and seeing the animals at the Prague zoo. These days allowed for building skills in patience, team work and exploring the wonder found in God's world. Many great memories were made during these days, as we learned all the valuable things you can learn when you play.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SCHOOL IN NATURE

After being unable to have school in nature for two years we could finally organize it again. School in nature means learning about nature, doing outdoor activities and working on survival skills for a whole week! Our middle school students learned how to make campfires and cook, rode bikes, hiked, made birdhouses, and learned how to work as a team all while enjoying God’s creation.

At first, many of the students were reluctant and didn’t look forward to being in nature for a whole week, but by the end, many students didn’t want to go home.
It was great to see the middle school students learn all these skills but even more that they realized that working as a team is a good thing and that God has given us nature to enjoy and to care for.

HIGH SCHOOL SPRING TRIPS

9th grade in Germany
10th grade in Ireland
All four high school classes have gone on a spring trip. 9th grade went to Germany, 10th grade to Ireland, 11th grade to Belgium and 12th grade to Spain. Our teachers said our students were enriched by experiencing their destinations’ culture and history and the students got to know each other a lot better.

GRADUATION

This year we congratulate 8 students! We had our graduation ceremony in the same location as last year and had a great time celebrating our graduates. Ashmit Badhe spoke to his class before Darina Nugaeva introduced the graduates' chosen commencement speaker, Mr. Wunderink. Six of our students decided to stay in Prague for university. The graduation ceremony was live-streamed and can be found here.
