Canada Cup West - July 9-10 event
Canada Cup West was a blast! CCC was able to show the rest of the West who to watch out for.
Volunteer help needed at the next big event that we are hosting!
July 30-31, CCC will host the Prairie Division Sprint Canoe/Kayak Championships.
Help our existing team to prepare the venue and welcome racers from the Yukon, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Tasks range from site preparation and clean up, boat control weigh in station, dock marshals, concession, and on-water and land officiating (training provided).
Join our team by letting us know you are willing to help CLICK HERE
Battle Royale is on! CCC VS CRC! Save Gas this year commuting to your club. Must use a man powered device. There will be little prizes awarded to one 18+yo most amount of km, one under 18yo most amount of km, and the club that has the most amount of people and km (a ridiculous trophy). Sorry no e-bikes, or e-anything... This challenge will be from June 27 to Oct 31. Must be a member of either club. Battle Royale has commenced to get strong, save some money, save the planet, have a mental break, save yourself from parking woes, etc. on all the benefits from not driving a car.
UV index is high this week, ensure you are prepared and drink lots of water!
Parking
We are noticing heavy traffic and it has become a safety concern.
Respect the No-Parking Zones, including on the grass, near the garbage bin, in front of gates, next to the sea-can doors, club walkways, & along the driveway between Lot A & CCC parking lot.
Where the 'proper' park spaces are full, use Parking Lot A (see image above) and walk the rest. On busy days, consider parking-friendly options; ride a bike, take a scooter or roller skate/ski.
Upcoming Events that will affect parking
Please make alternate plans on how you arrive at the Calgary Canoe & Rowing Club
---------------
July 29-31 CCC is hosting Prairie Divisional Championships
August 6-7 CCC and CRC are CLOSED
---------------
On the days of these events please leave the Calgary Canoe & Rowing Club parking lot for these attendees. Please park in alternate parking spots in North Glenmore Park or in the community of Lakeview. Alternatively since gas prices are so high, please choose a different mode of transportation such as bike, walk, scooter, roller blade, run, roller ski, skateboard, etc. into the Calgary Canoe & Rowing Club.
** Our team takes pride in creating a friendly, supportive and. competitive culture. Thanks to all athletes and parents and volunteers for the effort this takes, it is worth it **
COACHES WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!
Parents – Basic info and announcements are posted on the CCC web page.
Paddlers – WhatsApp groups for practice specifics from coaches and for paddlers to support each other.
Calgary Canoe Club Grievance Process The CCC Board and staff encourages feedback from all members. Feedback will help us improve the programs, educate staff and clarify expectations. We realize these may be difficult conversations for members to bring to our attention. We strive to set up a process in which members are comfortable to initiate grievance conversations. There will be no reprisals for the member(s) putting forth a grievance. Please note that all Board members and key staff personnel (Managers and senior coaches) have signed a confidentially agreement and agree to abide by this agreement.
