Free Learning Series "Little Kids, Big World" Featured at North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. – Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series "Little Kids, Big World" at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
"Little Kids, Big World" classes, led by educator Sarah Fox, are offered in a large public space with social distancing considerations. Each child is provided with their own supplies. Children and their parents or guardians are asked to meet at the east entrance information desk.
Aug. 6 "USS North Dakota," 10 and 11 a.m. Look at artifacts from the battleship named USS North Dakota, which was first launched in 1908. Then make a boat and discover what it takes to keep it afloat.
Aug. 13 "Kaleidoscopes, Shapes Galore,” 10 and 11 a.m. The State Museum has a lot of shapes in its exhibits. Join a shape hunt and create shapes to use in a fun project.
Aug. 20 "Oh, No! Frozen Dinosaurs!" 2 and 3 p.m. We found some frozen dinosaurs. Use science to help us decide how to free them.
Aug. 27 "Mini Masterpieces," 10 and 11 a.m. S.D. Nelson is a famous author and illustrator who has artwork on exhibit in the State Museum. Explore the works of art and create a mini masterpiece!
