This Sunday we think about how God encourages us and strengthens us in our regular worship services. Many of our teens recently attended a Youth Rally. At the Youth Rally, they were encouraged and strengthened through the gospel. While it is not exactly the same when we come to worship, we still receive blessings through the gospel.

Worship services are Thursday at 7:00pm and
Sunday at 8:00am & 9:30am
*The Sunday 8am service will be livestreamed here

Next Sunday, July 17, we will hear more about the experience of our teens who attended the Youth Rally. In between services, starting around 8:50, we will hear more about the blessings of the 2022 WELS International Youth Rally.

The Ministry Minute
The ROC Youth Center

The ROC (Recreation & Outreach Center for Youth) is hosting one of its annual fundraisers this month at TSL Middle School (Clark Street campus). The Rummage & Bake Sale will run from Thursday, July 21st - Saturday, July 23rd. 100% of the proceeds go towards this youth center in Watertown.
Volunteers are still needed from July 15-25th for various tasks which include (but not limited to) donating items, helping to set up the gymnasium, organizing the donated items for sale, bake goodies to sell, help shoppers haul merchandise to their vehicles or bring all items not sold to Twice As Nice in Jefferson after the sale is over.
*A complete listing of the assistance needed and the various rummage sale items that will not be accepted is linked below.
Two items this team specifically requests are baked good and a trailer. Do any of you have a trailer this team could use during the sale and after to help haul items to Twice As Nice? If you have a trailer, love to bake, or are able to help in any way as listed in the attached link, please contact Tim Uttech (920-285-5276) or Pam Erdman (920-261-9674).

The Peter Plan

The elders of St. Luke’s have begun a process of spiritual care that we believe will be of great benefit both to our members and to our congregation. It is called The Peter Plan. The goal of The Peter Plan is simple – to encourage our members to stay connected to the life-saving message of God’s Word and to one another.  You can read about it in the document attached below.
Peter Plan--Part 1
TSL Riverfest Mother’s Tent

TSL will once again serve our community by supplying a Mother's (Family) Tent during Riverfest. This is a great service to provide to the community during a fun community event. Riverfest is August 11-14. TSL is seeking volunteers to tend the tent for the duration of the festival. It requires nothing more than a welcoming smile, a couple hours of your time and the ability to sanitize the area after someone has used it to either change a diaper or nurse, or get rest for their family. There is a bulletin board in the church narthex with the dates and time slots needed to be filled. You can sign up for one of these times at the sign up genius link here. You can also email Kirsten Young at kirstenlyoung@gmail.com or call/text her at 608-843-7291 with your chosen slot and she can add you to the sign-up genius link. TSL thanks you!
TSL Roots

For many years, we have been working on expanding our Early Childhood
program. Our goal was to open a full childcare, TSL Roots, this summer. While the timing of the opening has changed, it is still our goal to open an early childhood center soon. A committee has been formed with 2 members from each congregation. They are working together on many details to keep the program moving forward. We plan to start calling for a new director on October 16th that can lead our program forward. For the coming year, we have sixteen 3K students enrolled, and Mary-Anne Schwartz, a Trinity member, will be teaching them. We praise God for the blessings of a large 3K class, and for the opportunities he will offer in the future reaching children as young as 6 weeks. We plan on keeping you informed regularly on our progress. If you have any questions, reach out to Principal Gustafson at pgustafson@tslwels.org or call the school office.
Summer Sandwiches In The Park

Thanks be to God! People are coming out to the parks to enjoy God’s creation while eating lunch. One of our team members who speaks Spanish, Linda Ruesink, has been an extra blessing. On the first day we served lunch, a few children recognized her and were so happy.
The used books, videos and Christian literature has been well received, especially with the children who love to take a book or two with them. We have met a few new families and have spoken with a few from last year.
St. Luke’s has been so generous in donations already. We are all set on peanut butter, jelly, Ziploc bags, paper bags, plastic spoons and water for the rest of the summer. We are running out of fruit snacks, granola bars, fruit/applesauce/pudding cups, prepackaged desserts/snacks, and juice boxes. If you are willing to donate, please see the basket in the church narthex marked “summer sandwiches”. Thank you for helping to feed Jesus’ lambs here in Watertown.
MLC Congregational Partner Grant Program

Since the inception of this program six years ago, St. Luke's has participated fully to support our member students reach their ministry goals! We met these financial needs through support from the Trust Fund and many generous gifts from our members.
For this coming school year, we have the opportunity to support seven member students reach their ministry goals at MLC with the gift of $1,200 per student. We are looking for additional gifts of approximately $5,000 to support our member students. All funds received in excess of this amount will be held in the Trust Fund designated to this program for future years. Please consider participating with a financial gift to the “St Luke's - MLC Matching Funds” program.  Go to https://mlc-wels.edu/financial-aid/congregational-partner-grant-program/ for more details about this blessed giving opportunity.
