This Week at St. Anthony Parish

JULY 10, 2022  I  Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

"Which of these three, in your opinion, was neighbor to the robbers' victim?" He answered, "The one who treated him with mercy." Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise." (Lk. 10: 36-37)

Mass Primer with Fr. Arthur

15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Good morning, and happy Sunday! Before Mass this morning, why not grab your coffee and sit down with Fr. Arthur for a little Mass Primer? Listen as Fr. will briefly outline the main theme or takeaway within each of today's Mass readings. We hope these insights will enrich the celebration of the Mass for you today! Enjoy, and we'll see you there.

Eucharistic Revival Pilgrimage

Participate in a self-guided pilgrimage to sites in our diocese of special Eucharistic significance - in terms of history, devotion, patronage, art, beauty, and education. Visit one site each month through the course of the Eucharistic Revival Diocesan Year (June 2022-June 2023).

Your pilgrimage passport is available at diocesefwsb.org/eucharist or at the button below!
Grab Your Passport!
Download your pilgrimage passport and fill it in yourself each time you visit a site (e.g., just handwrite the date of your visit). Visit six sites or more during the Diocesan Year and bring it to either of the two Catholic bookstores in our diocese to receive a free gift – Divine Mercy Gifts in South Bend or Good Shepherd Books & Gifts in Fort Wayne. The pilgrimage site for June was Notre Dame’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

The pilgrimage site for July is: St. Jude Adoration Chapel in Fort Wayne.

Located at 2130 Pemberton Drive, Fort Wayne, the first perpetual adoration chapel in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend opened at St. Jude parish in Fort Wayne on October 28, 1984 – the Feast of Saint Jude. Our Lord has been adored in this chapel for more than one million continuous hours. When you visit, look for the pamphlet recounting the history of the chapel as well as information on how to make a holy hour before the Blessed Sacrament.

The entrance to the adoration chapel is the red door on the north side of the Parish Office Building.

"Come & See" Men's Discernment Retreat

Young men ages 16-30 are invited to come spend time with diocesan seminarians and learn more about seminary and the priesthood. Join us at Sacred Heart Parish in Warsaw, IN from 9am to 5pm on Friday July 15.

Always Here to Help

In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision two weeks ago to overturn Roe v. Wade, we realize that now is when the real work begins, of spreading the word far and wide that there will always be a place to turn to in the Catholic Church. More specifically, there will always be a place – and someone – to turn to at St. Anthony de Padua, and in our welcoming, loving community.

For anyone in need, we're glad to be of assistance in person. Either way, we'd like to shed a light on our Pro-Life & Pregnancy Resource Page, which will always feature the most up-to-date and helpful resources we could find both locally and nationally. However you need it, we'll always be here, and we'd be honored to help.

If you'd like to get involved with our parish's Respect Life Committee, please contact Connie Dygulski at lbean13@comcast.net.

Kid's Bulletin for July 10!

Do your children know about the Kid's Bulletin? It's a great resource for kids to learn more about the faith and glean more from the Sunday readings, with illustrations and all kinds of fun activities. Download a copy of today's edition at the link below, or pick one up at

Mass today! Copies will be available in the back of the church, and behind the back pews along the stained-glass windows.

SVDP: 100 Days of Relief

Every summer, the St. Vincent de Paul Society experiences an increased need for our services. This year, we expect the need to be even greater—not due to the pandemic—but due to inflation.

Rent in Indiana is up 13%, with the

average cost of renting a 2 bedroom apartment at $981 per month. The average cost of groceries has risen 10.8% in the last year, the largest increase since 1980. The average cost of a gallon of gas has risen 43% in the past year.*

All of these costs are starting to add up for families who were already struggling to make ends meet and for organizations like ours who are facing both an increase in demand and an increase in expenses. Already, we’ve had a 51% increase in households served compared to last year.

Senior Fellowship Lunch: July 27

The St. Anthony Senior Fellowship group will meet on Wednesday, July 27, from 12pm to 3pm in the Church Meeting Room. All seniors are welcome. We will be duplicating the same format as our gathering last month that was enjoyed by the 25 seniors who attended: A lunch of sub sandwiches, chips and cookies

will be served at noon, followed by Eucre, Scrabble, and any other games seniors would like to play. Water and iced tea will be provided. If you did not RSVP for the food order at our last event, feel free to bring your own lunch or eat at home and join us after lunch at 12:30pm for the socializing. Since school is not in session, you may park on either the east or south side of the church.

Theology on Tap Summer Series

Begins July 19

God’s providence is always at work. There are no coincidences with Him, and no place is too far to be reached by His grace and mercy. While there may be some places where the world wouldn’t expect Him to show up, He can move and speak in all times and places.

Even in grief. Even in transition. Even in your search for belonging or desire to live a good life.

Come hear stories of how people in our community have found God in unlikely places.

ALL young adults are welcome, Catholic or not!
