Summer’s Here

"Waiting for Leftovers," hooked work by Grace Collette. As a child, Grace often went camping with family and knew, at times, they were surrounded by raccoons. She wanted to give the feeling of being surrounded in her hooked work. "All art is about feelings," says Grace. Come see her work.

New Show at Maine Fiberarts

HOME & CHILDHOOD MEMORIES

“Home & Childhood Memories,” our current show, remains on view through July 30. Work includes: fabric collage, hooked rugs, embroidered boxes, bricolage, paper spheres, and weavings by artists Grace Collette, Debora Dixon, Cindy Finamore, Kimberly Hamlin, Jennifer Lee Morrow, Pamela Slaughter, Jill Snyder Wallace, and Bobbie Ann Tilkens-Fisher. Plan to visit Wednesday-Friday, 11-3; Saturdays, 11-2.

WANT TO SEE YOUR WORK IN AN EXHIBIT?

Five of the artists featured in the exhibit are new to us. As new members, they sent images and we found several pieces to incorporate into this show. Our June membership campaign yielded many new members and we are enjoying getting to know their work.

CALL TO ARTISTS FOR OUR NEXT SHOW

Members, send images of your paper work and quilts. We seek art for a paper show (preferably, involving handmade paper) for August/September and for quilts during October/November. Work must be for sale and is featured in our gallery and on our Online Shop. Members, email up to ten images to christine@mainefiberarts.org. Check out items for sale from our current show on our Online Shop.

MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN RESULTS

Our call for memberships during the month of June went really, really well, and we are proud to welcome you back or anew! All donations and new memberships made in the past month are being matched by two generous donors who believe in our mission. THERE IS STILL TIME to have your membership or donation matched through July 15, 2022.

You can join or renew any time!

We received word that a few people had issues while using our online membership form. All issues that may have been on our end have been resolved, so we hope you will try again or give us a call, or send in a check with your membership dues.

Members support our exhibitions, newsletters, outreach, publications, Story of Fiber Art, and forays into Western Maine this year. Thanks all!
