Hello Hazelwood Friends!

I am on vacation, back home in Louisville taking care of some things at home and catching up with some friends I have not seen for quite awhile. It is 91 degrees here as I write this, while the temperature in Muncie is 82 according to my weather app. Which reminds me of something which I want to make sure you all know about the Hazelwood sanctuary:

There are no air conditioning vents on the chancel while the main floor has them in the back, up by the choir loft, blowing down the side aisles, and along the front, on each side of the stairs to the chancel. So it will feel colder to you in the congregation than to those who are leading worship. If you get cold easily, you may want to sit towards the middle, away from the vents, and/or bring a sweater or jacket. (And now you know why my hair is often wet by the end of worship!)

I'll be working remotely on Monday and Tuesday next week and then continuing time off through Friday, the 22nd. Hope you all are doing well!

Shalom, Rev. Pamela

This Sunday, July 17, we again welcome Rev. Sara Nave Fisher to the pulpit, via the gift of technology, while Rev. Pamela is taking some vacation days.

Rev. Sara is an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) currently living in Columbia, South Carolina, after leaving Texas last year. She has served in associate and senior pastorates, and is passionate about intergenerational ministry, gender equality both in and out of the church, and congregational discernment. Sara and her husband, Jonathan (a DOC Army chaplain), have three compassionate, curious, confident kids, ages 10, 12, and 14. You may find out more about her at saranavefisher.com.

Every song we sing this Sunday will be ones that were turned in as requests.
