A continuous project between visual artists Kristie Cornell and Marla Kristicevich, Meander Mindset explores the watershed of Bayou Teche through organic samples, photographs, textural rubbings, audio recordings and eco sculptures. These collected materials and works create a visual narrative of the artists’ findings and encourage the viewer to reevaluate their connection to the natural world and to take the time to observe and appreciate their surroundings.
The exhibition is being done in partnership with Basin Art’s ProjectSpace Residency and can be seen at Basin Arts (113 Clinton St. in Lafayette) during an opening reception at ArtWalk on July 9 from 6-8 p.m. A closing reception will be held July 16 and feature an immersive walkthrough of the installation followed by a Q&A session with the artists.
