The Arts are Thriving at the Assembly Once Again
After the past year's reduced programming we are thrilled that a full summer of art and music is back, including the beloved operettas.  The first rehearsal for this year's Children’s Operetta "One Cray, Cray Day at the CSA: Another Operetta Odyssey" will be held on Monday, July 11th at 1pm in the Meeting House.  Children entering 1st through 8th Grade are invited to participate. VOLUNTEERS are needed and encouraged to attend the volunteer meeting on July 11th at 1pm. Learn all the details in the link, including how to pre-register your children and avoid the long line on the first day of rehearsal.

The annual Dutton Concert will be held this Saturday, July 9th at 7:30pm in the Meeting House featuring Pierce Emata on piano. The concert is free and open to the public. Learn more about the performer and his program here.

If you would like to express your creative side through painting, crafting, drawing or writing, there will be a series of Adult Art Workshops given by CSA artists on Friday mornings from 9:30-11:30am. The workshops are open to the first 12-15 people who arrive and are for adults (18 and up) only.  Learn about all the upcoming workshops here.

We offer Arts & Crafts for kids every week at the Assembly Building on Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1:00-1:30pm for ages 3-4, 1:30-2:30pm for ages 5-7, and 2:30-3:30pm for ages 8-11.

Thank you to the many volunteers who have been busy pulling Garlic Mustard.  Drop-offs can be made at the Garlic Mustard dumpster near Frankfort High School through Sunday, July 10.
Volunteers needed: at CSA Crystal Lake beach at 3pm this Sunday, July 10th, to help install a replacement teaching dock.
If you are relatively new to the CSA, we would like to meet you! New members will be introduced at the Lemonade gathering after church on Sunday, July 10. Please self-identify by contacting one of the following Welcome Committee members:
Cynnie Hood (443 745-1092) or Ann Whelpton (513 520-7742).
Church Service This Sunday, July 10th

It's Lemonade Sunday! The service at 11:00am will be led by the Rev. Michael Lindvall. He is the Senior Minister Emeritus of the Brick Presbyterian Church in the City of New York. Raised in Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, he and his wife Terri, an artist and retired art teacher, now split their days between Fort Wayne, Indiana and Pentwater, Michigan.

Adult Bible Class meets Sunday at 9:00am in the Meeting House South Room, studying the Book of Acts. Choir rehearsal is at 10:00am. Nursery Care is not available this season. Sunday School will be held in the Assembly Building for kids ages 4-12.

Our forest is aging, and while it is doing a good job of growing the next generation, climate change, diseases and pests, deer, invasive plants, tree fall, erosion and development are affecting this unique habitat. Maintaining a healthy understory will ensure that when the old giants do meet their end, others in the understory will be there to take their places. In this article by Evan Hammon and the Ecology Committee you will learn more about threats to the CSA forest, and best practices to help mitigate them.
