It's term break time!

I have been hard at work over the last two weeks, prepping to deliver this term break's professional development to our tutors. The focus this time is on the new study designs for VCE English, VCE EAL and VCE Literature students beginning next year.

And I thought - why not share some of this information with you too?

VCE English

VCE EAL

New inclusions:

personal response to a set text (only in year 11)
crafting/creating texts within a 'framework of idea' chosen by the school
The argument analysis SAC in Year 12 must now include an audio (eg podcast) or audio/visual (ie video) text

New inclusions:

personal response to a set text (only in year 11)
crafting/creating texts within a 'framework of idea' chosen by the school
The argument analysis SAC in Year 12 must now include an audio (eg podcast) or audio-visual (ie video) text
The argument analysis will also require a note-form summary of the text(s)

VCE Literature

New inclusions:

Study of genres and literary movements (only in Year 11)
Study of 'Voices of Country', ie Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander texts (only in year 11)
Adaptations and transformations will now include a close reading requirement
Close analysis (Year 12 only) will now be only 1 response to 1 text

Phew! That was a lot!
