July 2022

How’s your summer going? Things have been hopping at the Library! We’re loving seeing so many folks here between summer school visits, Library programs, our anniversary party, lots of summer reading, and the lure of our sweet, sweet air conditioning. We hope you have a pile of good books on hand for those days that it’s just too hot to do anything besides reading in front of a fan. If you don’t, we just might know where you could find the perfect read…

Closings

The Library will be closed on Sundays for the summer. The Library will resume Sunday hours on September 11.

How’s your summer library challenge going?

Have you signed up for our all-ages Summer Library Challenge yet? We especially love the little extra push it gives us to try new books and new things, not to mention both the real life rewards (free book!) and those less-tangible-but-no-less-real-rewards (shiny digital badges!). Looking for inspiration? Here’s just a few ideas for new activities you can try that’ll earn you a badge for the adult summer challenge:

  • Support a local business by buying produce from a new stand at the Farmer’s Market (Think Local) and use it to make a new recipe (Let’s Eat)

  • Check out a home improvement magazine through Libby (Tech Time), read it outside (Great Outdoors), and use an article to fix something around your house (Home Improvement)

  • Come to a library event (At Your Library) and while you’re here, tell a librarian a joke (Laugh It Up) and check out a book about someone with different life experiences than you (Voyage of Discovery)

  • Convince a friend to do the summer library challenge with you (Fish are Friends), roadtrip to a new library together (Sail New Seas), and listen to an audiobook on the way (Listen Up)
