June 2022 provided an unforgettable, and a memorable experience for the AISS Class of 2023 Team 2.  The first important phrase to say is “thank you.” We would like to thank Dr. Rojas and Ms. Wells for assisting us scholars throughout the program and being our top mentors. Spring of 2022 is ending, we scholars have learned a tremendous amount of wonderful knowledge, and had unforgettable experiences meeting new people. We would like to share everything we have learned.

The BTG event helped us learn many things about our community and the ways the AISS Foundation has helped it grow. It also helped strengthen our communication skills as we talked to real STEM professionals who have been in the workforce for many years.

Carlos Bonilla, for example, has presented to us via zoom many times about various topics from product development to networking. It was not until this event that we got to talk to and thank him in person. Overall it was a nerve-wracking experience at first, but beautiful in the end.

Despite a sudden return to an in-person environment after a whole year of online learning, I made the effort to put myself out in the community and make myself known on the campus.
