PC(USA) Loan Assistance Program Changes for 2022

As a result of the COVID-19 emergency, federal student loan borrowers may receive credit for past periods of repayment on loans that otherwise would not qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF). The Board of Pensions is providing a new resource — EdAssist — to ministers to help determine if they are eligible for PSLF and, if so, to assist them in the application process.

Click here for more information about EdAssist and to start using the service.

IMPORTANT DATE: The Biden administration announced the Limited Opportunity Waiver which allows anyone (not just ministers) who was declined from PSLF previously to make changes to their loans to bring them back into eligibility and count their previously ineligible payments. This means that many borrowers are receiving immediate forgiveness of their entire loan balances. This waiver ends on October 31, 2022.
