Our hearts go out to our neighbors in Highland Park and in the greater Chicago area. Thank you to the first responders and community organizations offering assistance to those impacted by the recent horrific events.
To those who are wounded in any way - physically, psychologically, economically, or socially - come join our community. The goal of Roberti Community House has always been to reach out and connect with individuals, families, and neighborhoods who are experiencing this collective trauma of unprecedented stress, violence, isolation and grief.

Moving on Up!

Congratulations to the eight members of Waukegan Police Department who were promoted this week, including RCH Board Member, Edgar Navarro! Roberti Community House has always appreciated the partnership and support of the police department.
They have participated in presentations to our youth programs and joined us for special events. The Waukegan Police department has made sincere connections with our neighbors and we celebrate your well-deserved honors!

Reduce Our Use

Roberti Community House is committed to creating a healthier world every day, not just on Earth Day!

One major offender across the globe is single use plastics. RCH is spearheading an effort to reduce our use and educate the wider community about the harmful effects of plastic waste.

No plastic bottles here! Our Junior Chef and Community Garden programs are currently modeling the importance of reducing plastic waste. You can help by spreading the word and reducing your own use of plastic bottles and other plastics.

We also teach recycling and composting and use the organic compost we created with our yard waste in all of our gardens!

Junior and Master Chefs

Our Junior and Master Chefs are developing important basic kitchen skills around food and equipment safety and sanitation. They are also exploring new recipes, learning ingredient measurement, and mastering item assembly. They love the variety in our menus and are willing to try new tastes and textures!

Nutrition is the star of the show each session. We reinforce healthful eating by avoiding processed foods AND eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, whole foods, and healthy proteins. All food groups are well represented each week and our young chefs try it all!
We love their interest and enthusiasm and hope they will spread the word about healthy eating to friends and family.

Roberti Culinary Pathway is Expanding!

Roberti Culinary Pathway has opened a café down the street at 807 S Lincoln Ave, Waukegan.
This new venture allows us to expand our instruction and provide new workforce opportunities.
Each week, our students have an opportunity to develop a menu to feature in the café, expanding their culinary skills, people skills, and overall confidence.
Stop in to see our daily selections of homemade sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and smoothies.
