FALL 2022 MODERN MATH WORKSHOP

MSRI and the NSF Mathematical Science Institutes Diversity Initiative invite you to attend or share the following conference taking place in Fall 2022.
Reminder: The deadline to apply for funding to attend this workshop is Friday, July 8, 2022. Recipients of SACNAS travel scholarships will be eligible to receive one additional night of lodging support through the Modern Math Workshop. Those who do not receive funding from SACNAS are eligible to receive full support for travel and lodging (double occupancy) and partial reimbursement of SACNAS registration fees.

Modern Math Workshop (at SACNAS 2022)

October 26-27, 2022

San Juan, Puerto Rico

As part of the Mathematical Sciences Collaborative Diversity Initiatives, the six NSF-funded U.S. mathematics institutes are pleased to host their annual SACNAS pre-conference event, the 2022 Modern Math Workshop (MMW) on October 26-27 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The MMW encourages undergraduates from underrepresented groups to pursue careers in the mathematical sciences, and builds research and networking opportunities among undergraduates, graduate students and recent PhDs.

The workshop includes two mini-courses aimed at undergraduates, research sessions aimed at graduate students and recent PhDs, a panel addressing professional issues of interest to both, a reception open to all participants. The 2022 MMW is organized by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute.

The MMW is a pre-conference event at the SACNAS National Conference. MMW begins with registration at noon on Wednesday, October 26, and ends at noon on Thursday, October 27.
