Connecting to our neighbors, God, and the land, using sustainable agriculture to meet local hunger needs

Summer Harvesting

Hi Garden Friends,
Janice told me that this week our Wednesday Harvest gathered 337.5 pounds of produce.  Way to go!  Now for the exciting news.  That half pound was tomatoes.  Tomatoes are starting!  As a reminder, if you would like to help on Wednesdays please contact Janice Ishikawa.

Year-to-date we have 2,268 pounds.

I was thinking about how this garden works.  The cooperation of our gardeners.  The financial support of our members and generous patrons.  Our partnership with local food relief groups.  Our neighbors who appreciate this help so much right now.

This all works because are connected as partners.  This weekend we are celebrating Independence Day, but I can't help thinking about how we are interdependent .  I read a great blog on this idea recently from my friend Joe Kenney  You can read it here

Thank you for being our partners.

BTW, we will be harvesting this Saturday, July 2 so if you are in town, please come on out.
