Jocelyn means light-hearted and lately, I’ve been deepening my light.
It’s that moment when you lock eyes with a stranger, in the car, in the store, and exchange a genuine smile.
Offering to bag my own groceries and seeing the ease on the clerk’s face.
Exchanging small talk with another parent/caregiver at the park while watching the joy of our children at play.
Reconnecting with family offline, because likes and hearts don’t quite explain the depth of how much I care.
When you fill life with light, things (for me at least) don’t feel so heavy.
You can grow big and not dim the glow and growth of others. You can grieve in peace and abundance. It’s been a stage of being more intentional with my follow through and asking for grace when needed.
Because more often than not, my kind of excellence in life is worth accepting when I do amazing things and when I can only do so much. I’m still a tender soul, a human doing human things.
So my offering is: just be a light. To you first and foremost then followed by others.
