Who is dreaming the story of your life? You are. If you don’t like your life, if you don’t like what you believe about yourself, you are the only one who can change it. It’s your world; it’s your dream.
- Don Miguel Ruiz and Don Jose Ruiz, The Fifth Agreement

Hiatus is one word to describe the newsletter pause. The other truth is wow, the months were abundant.

Offering light and sustenance

Jocelyn means light-hearted and lately, I’ve been deepening my light.

  • It’s that moment when you lock eyes with a stranger, in the car, in the store, and exchange a genuine smile.

  • Offering to bag my own groceries and seeing the ease on the clerk’s face.

  • Exchanging small talk with another parent/caregiver at the park while watching the joy of our children at play.

  • Reconnecting with family offline, because likes and hearts don’t quite explain the depth of how much I care.

When you fill life with light, things (for me at least) don’t feel so heavy.

You can grow big and not dim the glow and growth of others. You can grieve in peace and abundance. It’s been a stage of being more intentional with my follow through and asking for grace when needed.

Because more often than not, my kind of excellence in life is worth accepting when I do amazing things and when I can only do so much. I’m still a tender soul, a human doing human things.

So my offering is: just be a light. To you first and foremost then followed by others.

Things I’m Practicing

  • Not apologizing (at work/personal) and saying “thanks for the grace on xyz…”

  • Letting people help me with needs I’ve procrastinated.

  • Tending to my energy fillers.

  • On social, commenting and going that extra step on Facebook to love posts.

  • Sharing my skin routine and this dope facial steamer (best 10 mins of my day).

  • Giving businesses I love the flowers with 5-star Google reviews.

  • Resting and pausing the to do list.

Met the author of the book I’m in 🤗

On the Blog

The skinny on what May was like for me
It was a restful hiatus and one packed with celebrations, rest, and new beginnings.

3 lessons my child is teaching me about motherhood
My inner child healing work led me to see the fullness in each of my child’s lessons.

4 things I’m teaching my child
I’m teaching him just how beautiful and loved he is in body and mind.

My spirit is sensing I need uninterrupted time to work on my book, so my newsletters will be on a break for a few months. In the meantime, I offer following my instagram for my spurts of shares and posts all most often blog connected too.
