Allergies:
For the safety of a number of our campers, we are enforcing a
NUT-FREE ZONE. Please do not pack nuts of any form in your child’s lunch or snack.
If your child has an allergy that may require the use of medication
(Benadryl, Epipen, etc.) please complete the attached form and submit it
on the first day of camp.
If your child is not feeling well:
To prevent the spreading of illness, please make arrangements for your child to say home if they are sick. If a child develops symptoms while at camp, parents will be called and expected to pick up their child.
Safety:
Your child’s safety is very important to us. Each week, day camps are run by 9-10 children’s ministry staff, and a minimum of 24 volunteers: 12 senior small group leaders (ages 16 and older) and 12 junior leaders (beginning in grade 8). Each small group of 10 children is supervised by one senior leader and one junior leader. At least one staff member per bus group is certified in first aid. All staff and volunteers have been fully screened and trained according to Willingdon Church’s Safe Place policies, including criminal record checks for ages 16 and up, interviews, references, and safety training.
The standard response in the event of a medical emergency is to call 911,
then call the parent or guardian. If we cannot get a hold of you, we will call the emergency contacts listed on the child’s registration form. If we are unable to get in touch with the parent/guardian and emergency contacts, and an immediate judgment call must be made, Willingdon Church staff will provide consent for medical assessment and treatment.
