SLP is Singapore’s top literary award. One of the few multilingual literary awards in the world, it celebrates works in Chinese, English, Malay and Tamil in three genres: Poetry, Creative Nonfiction and Fiction. More than 90 Singaporean writers have won the award. This year, we mark 30 years of SLP since it was established in 1992.

Students aged 11-18, this one’s for you! Translate Zhou Jianxin’s book, as part of
the 8th edition of the Bai Meigui Translation Competition. You will stand a chance to be mentored by the renowned translator Helen Wang. What’s more, if your translation is chosen, it will be published as a bilingual picture book and launched at 2023's Asian Festival of Children’s Content! Do you remember the remarkable rescue of the Wild Boars junior football team from the Tham Luang Cave? Author Coonoor Kripalani will be launching her new bilingual book Call of the Heart Rescue at the Tham Luang Cave based on their experience. Douglas Yeo, who was a rescue diver and involved in the rescue operation, will be sharing his first-hand experience of the recovery of the 12 boys and their coach. RSVP for the book launch below.
