SAY YES! TO KIDS BY SUPPORTING OUR LOCAL PROJECTS

I was so proud to learn that last year supporters in the Diocese of Montreal were some of the most generous donors to the Anglican Foundation’s first Say Yes! to Kids campaign. Together with Anglicans across Canada we helped fund $470,000 in youth-focused grants to 79 worthwhile recipients from coast to coast to coast.

Did you know that, this year, we have two fundraising teams in our diocese?

The other good news is that for every $10 donated to the Diocese of Montreal teams, $2 will support Mile End Mission's nature mission trip to Quebec Lodge Outdoor Centre—helping to outfit the group with the necessary camping supplies to have a truly successful camp experience. To learn more, go to:
https://mileendmission.org/innocence-and-wonder-a-nature-mission/.

Please give generously to one, or both, of these teams and help to grow a brighter future for young people today!

Thank you!

Bishop Mary Irwin-Gibson

P.S. You can also mail a cheque, payable to the Anglican Foundation of Canada, with "Montreal" in the memo line to the address below. Your donation will be split between these two teams.

Education for Ministry (http://www.efmcanada.ca) is a program of theological education for lay people. There are four years of study, but participants commit for one year at a time, meeting in small groups with a trained mentor/group leader.
Participants take what they learn about Scripture, church history, theology and ethics and learn how to bring this knowledge into their own lives and hearts, supporting them in living out a vibrant baptismal ministry in the church and in the world.

Three ongoing groups in the Diocese are welcoming new participants for Sept 2022:
  • A Wednesday evening group in Montreal at Dio (Montreal Diocesan Theological College). Please contact Nancy Greene-Gregoire (ngreene@acm.org)
  • A Thursday afternoon group meeting from 1 to 3:30pm in Sutton at Grace Anglican Church. Please contact Tim Smart (revtimsmart@gmail.com)
  • A Thursday evening group in Lachute at St Simeon’s, and on zoom. Please contact Nancy Greene-Gregoire (ngreene@acm.org)
Don’t delay, space is limited. New participants register by July 15
Image showing heat loss (lighter colours) with the temperature scale showing on the bottom of the picture. Fixable problems are often around foundations and doors/windows, but sometimes in the middle of wall, due to damaged insulation.
Do you wonder where your church is losing all its heat? Send an email to sec@montreal.anglican.ca for information on an energy assessment (we hope we can keep it free), including thermal imaging."
Attention parishes! This link  has information on applying for funding from the government for security infrastructure.
