Welcome to Summer!

With the passing of the Summer Solstice, we're back to my favorite time of the year.  It has been brutally hot in Georgia, despite being early in the season.  We're seeing temps in June like we're used to seeing in late-July and August.

Although shooting outdoors can be uncomfortable during this season, indoor opportunities continue to be had, with matches being held in our indoor venues most every night of the week.

Outdoor activities around water are my favorite part of this season.  We've gotten into kayaking during the COVID shutdown and really enjoy taking our God-son out for that every chance that we get.  I also recently purchased a Standup Paddleboard and look forward to the challenge of learning that.  I never rode a skateboard as a kid, so friends are telling me that this will be a steep learning curve.  Speaking of water activities, please take a look at an informative article that I posted on my personal Facebook page entitled "Drowning doesn't look like Drowning".  The direct link is here:  https://slate.com/technology/2013/06/rescuing-drowning-children-how-to-know-when-someone-is-in-trouble-in-the-water.html

Getting back on the topic of firearms, please take a moment to check your Weapons Carry License/Pistol Permit to ensure that it is not expired.  The gubmint doesn't send you a renewal notice in most states and I have had several customers over the past months who have forgotten to renew theirs during the COVID period.  Also, I recommend that you continue renewing your License, even if you're in one of the 25 states who recognize Constitutional Carry.  The benefits of retaining the permit are two-fold:  You can purchase firearms without having to do the NICS check, plus "reciprocity" covers you while traveling.  (Most Constitutional Carry laws only cover residents of that state, not visitors.  If you have a permit in your home state though, you can probably carry in other states that recognize your state's license.)

BUY THIS SO I DON'T HAVE TO....

This is the Remington 700 MagPul in 6.5 Creedmoor.  It features a tactical bolt handle, black Cerakote finish, the X-Pro trigger, removable magazine, and a threaded 22" heavy 5R barrel, all in a pillar-bedded MagPul Hunter stock.  The base gun is only $1199.95 plus tax.  Of course, we can "package" it out with your choice of optic and base, Harris bipod, soft or hard cases, and all the hot PRS modifications.

We have the following consignment items available for your pleasure:

          - Dillon 550B reloader, BNIB old stock.  Comes with 38/357 Caliber Conversion Kit plus RCBS dies.  $600

          - Kriss Vector in .22 LR, alpine white, with TandemKross compensator, two 10-round mags and two 30 rounders, plus an EO Tech 512 sight, and a Bulldog case.  $1150

          - Ruger 10/22 set up for Steel Challenge with a laminate thumbhole stock, Magnum Research carbon fiber barrel, Vortex RDS.  Weighs only 4.5 pounds.  No mags. $750

          - Very lightly used SCCY CPX-2 in 9mm; stainless slide on black frame.  $250

          - Benelli M1 Super90 set up for 3-Gun Limited Division.  21-inch vent rib barrel with Crio Choke System (chokes appropriate for 3Gun included).  Nordic mag extension with 9-round capacity.  Extended Lifter, Bolt Handle, Bolt Release.  $1400

          - Remington RP9 semi-auto pistol.  Remington's entry into the polymer pistol market.  Includes four 18-round magazines.  Would be a great truck gun or daily carry piece. I'll throw in a Kyodee Custom kydex holster with it.  $350

          - Ruger 10/22 Target.  Lightly used with hammer forged heavy barrel.  Blued finish; laminate stock.  A real beauty.  Includes Simmons AETEC scope.  $450

          - I have always built tactical autoloading shotguns off of the Benelli M1/M2 chassis or the Remington VMax, but I recently built a Beretta 1301 for a customer who wanted a heckuva home defense gun.  Instead of starting with the Tactical Model, we went with a 21" Comp model.  That gave us a few "3-Gun friendly" mods in the base gun, such as Extended Shell Carrier, extended Bolt Handle, extended Bolt Release.  We added a soft SideSaddle, 8-round mag tube, Picatinny Rail, O-Light BALDR Pro with remote switch, and a Modified Choke Tube.  It is gas-operated, so it shoots softer than a Benelli M1 or M2, but is as fast as (or faster than) a Winchester SX4.  I was doing very fast double-taps at 15 yards and keeping all of the buckshot pellets in the K5 zone.  My last shot was a headshot at 15 yards; all pellets were in the head in a 4 inch pattern.  I am happy and I am sure that the customer will be thrilled.

       - We are now dealers for Elite Survival Systems and their top-quality PDW backpacks.  We're adding Level IIIa ballistic protection to the bags and can sell them for just over $300 plus tax.

      - PDW's have been pretty popular, with 6-inch barreled 9mm AR derivatives selling well.

Gun Cleaning Special:  Get the full-house, world-renowned CCGW cleaning job on your match guns, carry pieces, and hunting guns.  Most every gun will be only $25 each; complicated guns slightly higher.  (Glocks, M&Ps, 1911s/2011s, and the like are simple.  Benelli M-4s, piston-driven ARs, etc. are NOT.  I recently learned that Browning Auto-5's definitely are not....)  Turn-around time is typically less than a week.

Chronographing Services Got some ammo that you've been producing and you want to make sure that it's living up to what the reloading manual promised?  Going way out in left field, using non-standard powders to do things that books say can't be done (like 9mm Major)?  I will chronograph that ammo, using your pistol and give you a detailed report with each shot recorded, average velocities, extreme spreads, Standard Deviation, and Power Factor.   Doppler radar will be used, so accuracy isn't dependent on light.  Competition loads will be checked "hot", "cold", and "room temperature" to ensure that you don't go "sub-Minor" at your next big match.   Fees are "a la carte", but would normally be around $35 per hour.  Five or six different loads could be tested in that time, allowing time for the barrel to cool between strings.

We are offering complete basic guns built on our Camp Creek Gunworks-branded Lower Receivers, in addition to the full-house competition guns that we've always offered.  We're calling these mil-spec guns the "Basic Defense" series.  They feature a 16-inch barrel with A2 flash hider, a flat-top upper receiver, free-float handguard, collapsible stock, mil-spec trigger, mil-spec pistol grip, and the Magpul MOE trigger guard.  Add a soft case and 30-round MagPul magazine.  Of course, like all CCGW products, they're backed by our "We'll make it right" warranty.  The price is only $749 plus tax.

Our latest thing has been PDWs (Personal Defense Weapons).  These are built off of our CR-15 lowers and feature short barrels (length depends on caliber and your desired features).  A pistol-stabilizing brace is added for greater accuracy potential.  5.56mm and .300 Blackout guns get the Noveske KX-5 suppressor.  9mm's don't need it.  An upgrade to a folding stock model is available for $300 more.  Prices start at $1500 for a basic model and go up to $3750 for the top-of-the-line model with EOTech HoloSight, TLR-2G light/laser combo, backup sights, premium SB Tactical brace, upgraded trigger, and custom fit case.

We have a 6-inch 2011 in-stock in .40 S&W.  It is built light, so it swings well from target to target.  The extra sight radius makes mid- and long-range shots EASY.  Only $2700

Until next time, See you on the Range!!
