Hi de Hi Campers!

So, here we are, just shy of 4 appointments from Christmas for most of you.  That must mean it's time for the Summer Holidays!

Pre Holiday Shave-Off or Post Holiday Shave-Down?
The pre-holiday shave-off is a seriously GOOD idea.
  1. Likely to be performed on an unmatted and well looked after coat, a nice short trim all round can be performed without distress to the dog.
  2. It's easier for your groomer therefore it's likely to be a much prettier end result.
  3. Your house sitter, kennel or dog boarder is going to love you.
  4. Your dog will have better walks and be easier to maintain for anyone you've left in charge.
  5. Upon your return, your dog will have grown out to where you'd normally have had it groomed to, looking "pretty" again.
  6. If you opted to take your dog with you on holiday - remember it's not much of a holiday if every trip to the beach results in an hour of bathing and brushing out your dog - salt water and sand are an evil combination and just Stirling for creating the most amazing matted monsters.
The Post-Holiday Shave-Off is a nightmare for dog and groomer...

In contrast, the post-holiday shave-off, performed because the dog is now too matted for your groomer to be able to brush out generally ends up being an ugly affair from start to finish and the final result is rarely anything that the groomer would want to put their name to.  (Remember their reputation lies at the end of your lead).

Humane removal of the matted fur which is pulling on the skin every time your dog walks, sits or lies down is the only kind option.

A matted shave-down takes longer to perform, is like driving through a pea-soup-fog at night and is exhausting for both dog and groomer.

Expect to pay a lot more for this version of a shave-down
Can I please draw your attention to

GRASS SEEDS

We are in Grass Seed season.  They have a barbed tip and if they get stuck in your dog's coat they will penetrate the skin and do LOTS of EXPENSIVE DAMAGE in addition to causing huge amounts of pain for your dog. Check:

Armpits
In between toes
Behind and under ears

AFTER EVERY WALK
It's available in both the App Store (iPhones) or Play Store (Android).  Just remember to use the same email address as you get your appointment notifications from!

Looking forward to seeing you at your next appointment!

Many thanks and kind regards
