Business and the Earth Webinar recap
Brussels, June 2022
On Friday May 27th, in the context of the Laudato Si’ Week, JESC hosted the webinar "Business and the Earth: A dialogue on the private sector's role in the green transition". Featuring Edmond Grace SJ, JESC Secretary for Ecology, Josianne Gauthier, CIDSE's Secretary General, and voices from the financial and the energy business sectors, this event constituted an opportunity to reflect on the role of business in society and, specifically, in the ecological transition.  You can watch the event recording at JESC's Youtube channel.

The report finds that both states and businesses act with disregard for human rights and the environment, particularly in the post COVID-19 context, and calls for a strong EU due diligence law and a UN Binding Treaty on Business and Human Rights.
