Join Us With Other Area Activists - Wednesday, June 29 at 6:30-8:00 pm

Our community is filled with like-minded, committed individuals who care about democracy, protecting our personal reproductive decisions, and reducing gun violence.

In the wake of last week’s two devastating Supreme Court decisions, please join us for a rapid response evening of action this Wednesday, June 29th at 6:30-8:00 pm to try to make a difference to reverse the course that this country is on.

I-RISE is joining with Massachusetts Moms Demand Action, Women in Action Huddle, and the FRS Unitarian Universalist Church at the UU Church at 26 Pleasant Street in Newburyport to:

  • Write postcards to pro-choice voters in Wisconsin, a critical swing state in the upcoming midterm elections. (We'll provide cards, postage, scripts and addresses at no cost.)

  • Learn about Moms Demand Actions' robust phone banking program and make calls if you are ready to get started.

  • Train to text voters on key issues, particularly concerning protecting abortion rights and getting our to vote.

  • Hear about how productive, positive, and even fun it is to canvass and how much our help is needed in neighboring New Hampshire.

  • Take home resource materials to help guide you in further actions and donation options to help turn back this tide of right wing minority rule.

As Michelle Obama eloquently stated on Friday:

“In this country, our futures are tied together in a delicate tapestry that we each have a hand in making. Too often, cynicism or indifference make us feel like we do not have a say in weaving it, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The more we allow pessimism to push us further into helplessness, the less we will be empowered to help create the kind of country we want to live in."

Come join us at the UU Church at 26 Pleasant St. for all or part of this 6:30-8:00 pm event to learn, act, and gain strength and motivation from our community! We'll have refreshments and the option to work either indoors or outside.

RSVP’s are not required, but please email us at indivisible.rise.newburyport@gmail.com so that we have an idea of how many people to expect.
