JUNE 2022

ISSUE: #06

Kia Orana ki to tatou au kōpu tangata o te Enterprising Families.

We hope you all have been keeping warm and safe during this chilly weather. It is fair to say that we all have had an eventful month.

On 24 June 2022, Aotearoa New Zealand celebrated Matariki as an official public holiday for the first time. The arrival of Matariki signals that it is time for people to gather, honour the dead, celebrate the present, and make plans for the future. We hope that during your first Matariki weekend, you were able to mark a period of reflection and remembrance, celebration, festivities and focus on the promise of a new season.

This month’s edition, we wanted to share the story of our eFAMILIES and their awesome work and involvement at the 275 Market Day as well include a few events that you and your family can attend in the coming months ahead.

A reminder to like and follow our social pages on Facebook and Instagram to keep to date with Enterprising Families’ notices.

Meitaki ma’ata e kia manuia.

Keeping up with the eFAMILIES:
275 Market Day

On 27th May 2022, twosevenfive and IAM Māngere hosted the 275 Market Day to celebrate the local businesses and talent coming out of Māngere.  The 27th of May, given its numerical date spells out 27/5 and is also the suburb’s phone prefix number - is the perfect day to come together and mark what makes Mangere so great. The purpose of this event was to promote more of Māngere, by bringing all of Māngere‘s businesses into one area, and letting people know what great Māngere-based businesses are out there and giving them the opportunity to get behind them.

This year the event was held outside the Māngere Town Centre Library and featured 35 stalls including health providers, social services, local businesses and a range of delicious food stalls.

We were so pleased to have three of our Māngere-based eFAMILIES participate in this event – Tiare Rose Cosmetics, Rukau Hut and Ataahua Jewellery. For each family, the event was a tremendous success, with all three businesses enjoying great sales and creating lasting connections within the community.

A massive thank you to the team at twosevenfive and IAM Mangere for hosting such a wonderful event. We look forward to celebrating 275 day next year.
