Dear Readers,

From day one, it’s been our mission to tell relevant stories and to incubate a new generation of writers. We do this through enterprise reporting, such as our series on transnational abandonment which drew attention to a tragic, but greatly-underreported issue impacting Indian American women. This is reporting you won’t find anywhere else: reporting that is essential to keeping our community informed so we can better navigate our ever-changing landscape.

India Currents has been chosen as one of a select few media outlets for the state of California's year-long campaign, Stop The Hate. The project is a unique move to draw attention to the proliferation of hate crimes against the Asian American community.

I hope you will consider chipping in and supporting our ambitious plans to spotlight the issues, triumphs, and tragedies of our community. I look forward to counting you in for our Summer fundraising campaign.
