Hey <<First Name>>

Greed: 7 Deadly CEO Sins: Greed

"Greed is good."

I guess I’m giving my age away quoting Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko, the original Wolf of Wall Street.

So, is it and if so, what does greed equate to in business terms?

Greed, the powerful urge to take more than our fair share, is really a reaction to a feeling of spiritual deprivation.

Have you noticed when you greedy, you appreciate nothing?

So, we feel so neglected and vulnerable that we require even more.

Insatiably, greed is catch 22: greed, appreciate nothing, even more greed?

Our fear is so entrenched we’re trying to keep it at bay by grabbing as much as we can, as quickly as possible.

To others, we may look already advantaged and privileged, but inside we just feel desperate.

In business terms, greed is evidence of a scarcity mentality instead of a growth mentality.

A mindset that’s mired in win-lose, I suppose, instead of win-win.

You reset your organisations ethics when you truly reconnect with each-other's logos, as well as switching mindsets and avoiding generalisations is at the heart of turning around companies.

The skills to immediately recognise this yields immediate results and is the means to steer your ship.

Rediscovering the logos or innate wisdom of your people requires intimate relationships.

The alternatives are disastrous: silencing people, distortion or deletion of the truth, and or the extra distortions that come with narcissism.

The start is to shine a light on to become aware of these innate flaws in all of us, in order to regain that good feeling again.

Its great to regain yourself and appreciate others around you, its the basis of a very high performing business.

That’s something I care about deeply. Enough to have written a couple of books about it which you can check out here.

Sometimes, the best way to get into a different headspace is just to share what’s going on with someone you don’t know so well but can trust.

Doing good is good business… let’s do more of it.

Cheers,
