This is a follow-up to the May 26 CORE Coffee Chat on Understanding the County Budget Process. On behalf of CORE and our co-sponsors, Human Care Alliance and Nonprofit Connection Santa Cruz County, we’d like to send a big thank you to Marcus Pimentel (marcus.pimentel@santacruzcounty.us) and Sven Stafford (sven.stafford@santacruzcounty.us) for sharing the County’s incredible new online budgeting tool. Whether you attended the live session or watch the recording, we encourage you to explore the website further and share your feedback about the budget tool with the County using the survey link below.

The California Ocean Protection Council
draft OPC Equity Plan
on Monday, May 9
for a 45-day public comment
period linked HERE.
The public review period will 
end on Thursday, June 23.

The California Ocean Protection Council (OPC) is nested within the California Natural Resources Agency and advances ocean and coastal science and policies for communities across the state.

To develop the plan, the OPC formed a state-wide Environmental Justice Advisory Group to inform the development of the draft Plan.  Please reach out to OPCEquityPlan@resources.ca.gov to submit written feedback, or if you have any questions about the Plan or public review process.
The Board of Supervisors created the OR3 n December 2020.to improve our community’s emergency response, elevate our disaster awareness, and prepare for increases in extreme weather due to climate change.  It goes beyond traditional emergency operations to create a full-service division to help our community prepare for disasters, respond during emergencies, and assist with recovery.
The Santa Cruz County Long Term Recovery Group is a collaboration of nonprofit, faith-based, local, state and national organizations that work together to share information and resources to help address the needs of individuals and families affected by the CZU Lightning Complex Fires, ONLY. Timely updates can be found on their Facebook Page
