100 Tuna Can Challenge
With rising food prices, food insecurity is greater than ever. We have been challenged to collect 100 cans of tuna for the food pantry this summer. This is an opportunity for your child to take care of others. To participate, bring your cans next week.
Mask Change: Family Discretion Starting 7/5
We continue to carefully monitor community covid rates and public health guidance and, after many months of high infection rates, have finally reached the point where covid rates in the area have dropped dramatically. Given this, the CDC has lowered the risk rating for Norfolk County, bringing us to a low designation in the past week. This drop in infection rates is mirrored within the TBS community. With our continued mitigation via HVAC improvements, testing, a focus on time outdoors, careful monitoring of symptoms, and emerging research about the efficacy of one way masking, this means we can move to indoor masking by family discretion in all age groups and in most situations starting July 5.
There will be circumstances when, following public health guidance, we will continue to mask, such as after an exposure, after isolation, when exhibiting mild cold symptoms, and if the community or TBS covid rates return to high levels.
Some families include higher risk members, plan to continue making until all members are fully vaccinated, or simply prefer to mask. We support all children, families, and educators in masking. If you would like your child to continue to wear a mask indoors as they have been, please let their teacher know.
Please continue to pack masks in your child's backpack each day so they are accessible when needed.
