I will be voting for Ellen Weaver, the conservative candidate for Superintendent of Education.
I have worked closely with her in Columbia – she knows how to build a team to get things done. She will put her heart into serving all the people of South Carolina with honor and excellence. Our kids can’t wait!
Her opponent, Kathy Maness, is not a conservative. Maness has led efforts to stop school choice, promote mask mandates and raise local taxes. She joined Joe Biden at his big budget busting trillion-dollar spending bill that spurred inflation and ignited all those high gas prices. Maness represents a ‘more of the same’ philosophy in education. If you are happy with our state continuing to rank at the bottom then Maness is your pick.
Our public education system has struggled here in South Carolina for decades. Look no further than the post-COVID period, which shows two-thirdsof our students aren’t reading or doing math at grade level. This is a monumental crisis.
The State School Chief is a position requiring a bold leader with policy experience. A person who will collaborate, find solutions and speak the truth. We need a common-sense conservative who will listen to parents, support teachers, protect taxpayers, and stand in the gap for our kids.
That’s why I urge you to join me in voting for Ellen Weaver for State Superintendent of Education on this Tuesday, June 28.
