CSU Pueblo 'Fired-Up' for new pizza restaurant, return of beer and wine sales on campus

Beer and wine sales have returned to the Colorado State University Pueblo campus thanks to a new wood-fired pizza restaurant.

With the opening of Da Brix Fired-Up Pizza, which held its grand opening in the Occhiato Student Center on Friday, CSU Pueblo has its first on-campus restaurant serving alcohol in nearly a decade.

During the summer, Da Brix will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on most days. Souder Hodge said the restaurant will experiment with later closing times on some weekends throughout the summer and plans to be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays during the fall semester.

CSU Budget Boosts Salaries, Minimizes Tuition Hikes Despite Rate of Inflation

The Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System this week adopted a budget that minimizes tuition increases for Colorado students, includes a 3 percent salary increase for faculty and staff at the CSU Fort Collins and Pueblo campuses, and allows the Fort Collins campus to start long-awaited renovations on its mos heavily used classroom building.

Statewide general fund appropriations to higher education in Colorado increased by $105.3 million (11.4%) this year, and from this, the CSU System received a 10.4% increase in new funds (about $19 million) over the previous year. These funds will allow the campuses to cover salary increases and mandated and inflationary increases in campus operating costs.

Engaging Undergraduate Students in Research
On behalf of Research Development

Hanover Research will present an upcoming webinar presentation titled, Engaging Undergraduate Students in Research. This presentation will explore how to use grant funding to support undergraduate research and curriculum development. Bryan DeBusk (Senior Grants Consultant, Hanover Research) and Clinton Doggett (Senior Grants Advisor, Hanover Research) will examine the benefits of incorporating funding for undergraduate research in grant-seeking strategies, including demonstrable grant management experience, connections with a broader network of funded researchers, and an improved biosketch. The webinar is scheduled for Jun 30, 2022, at 10:00 PM in Mountain Time.
