In this edition of the ESP Update we are happy to report on several recent successful events from our network - conferences, webinars and forums around the world. What's next? The call for abstracts for the 4th ESP Europe Conference is currently open - deadline 31 July.
We also highlight a number of recent publications, among them an article authored by members of the Young Ecosystem Services Scientists, looking at the experiences of early-career researchers in our field.
Last but not least, we just received the good news that the Impact Factor of `Ecosystem Services`, one of our affiliated journals, went up from 5.4 to 6.9. As ESP member you can receive a discount on the subscription and feel free to submit your papers.

Highlight of the month: ESP Africa Conference 2021
The third ESP Africa conference took place this month in Musanze, Rwanda, under the theme Ecosystem services for the future: Delivering value for Nature, Livelihoods and Economic Investment.
Participants from over 20 countries joined the different sessions held in Musanze and online. You can find a selection of pictures from the event here.

National Ecosystem Services Partnership (USA)
Our colleagues over at NESP held a webinar on Policy Applications of Natural Capital Accounts in the U.S. This webinar was the second part in a series on Natural Capital Accounts (NCA). You can watch the recording here.
ESP Asia Regional Office: Nature for Peace Forum
Representatives of scientists from China, Germany, India, the Republic of Korea, the Netherlands, and Vietnam took part in a “Nature for Peace” forum on 4 May in Seoul, Korea, highlighting the importance of giving attention to local stakeholders in transboundary ecosystem conservation.
The Forum is planned as an annual event organised by the ESP Asia Regional Office to improve biodiversity and nature-based solutions in transboundary areas utilizing the ecosystem services approach. Read more.

ESP Webinar: Incorporating Ecosystem Services into Water Resource Management
The second edition of the ESP Webinar Series took place on 17 June. This webinar launched the ‘Special Issue’ “Incorporating Ecosystem Services into Water Resource Management – Tools, Policies, and Promising Pathways“ published in Journal Environmental Management (Springer). The webinar facilitated a discussion as to how emerging scholarship on ecosystem services and water resources management can best support the mandate outlined by UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration and related sustainability agenda’s like SDG’s.
