A Digital Newsletter from Children's Health Ireland

I am I am delighted to welcome you to the first issue Children’s Health Ireland's (CHI) e-zine. CHI exists to care for children and adolescents when they need our services.

The new children’s hospital will further enable our provision of care on a national basis, and on an agreed speciality, on an all-island basis. Through links we will develop with local and regional paediatric centres and our community services, we will have an integrated national clinical network, working together with a shared care model and better integration based on new digital technology and shared ways of working.

Below you will find, a snapshot of how we are delivering on our core purpose - to care for and treat sick children and adolescents.

What is CHI?

CHI established one organisation to deliver healthcare to Ireland’s children, in preparation for the opening of the new children’s hospital at St James's Hospital in Dublin.

See the Progress

A hospital built with children, young people and their families in mind

Children's Health Ireland's Youth Advisory Council (YAC) toured the site of the new children’s hospital recently. YAC is made up of current and past users of the children’s hospitals in Dublin.

The group provides advice and feedback on the operational and clinical services in order to improve the patient / family experience. Their feedback and input is already visible in the demonstration space of the new children’s hospital, with its spacious private rooms, tablets in each room and a space for parent or guardian to stay close.

Join our family forum

To ensure the voices of children, young people and their families are included in decision making and innovation for the future in CHI, a Family Forum has been established with families who have had experiences attending one of CHI's locations.
