Pastor David and Nancy Glavin are retiring and were joined by members and friends from the Hillsboro-Harrisburg Baptist Church in Hillsboro on Sunday, May 29th for a retirement celebration. There was a Memorial service at the church with the group sharing in a meal at the Bridge Cafe in Farmington afterwards. Dave and Nancy have served the congregation here for the last eight years. They plan to travel for the summer and make plans for their future. They were active in the Hillsboro community and will be greatly missed by the congregation as well as by community members. Thank you Dave and Nancy for your friendship and service!

for Mid-ABC youth!
We have the opportunity to bid on and purchase

All you have to do is get your youth together,
plan your meal, pick a movie and set your prices.
You collect all funds.
Any checks can be written directly to your church
and at the conclusion of your event please just send one
check to First Baptist Church of Charles City
with Dayton Oaks Bus designated in the memo.
The winning Youth Group will receive
the Fundraiser of the Year Trophy!

Please have all events completed and funds collected by August 15.

First Baptist Church of Boone

This crew is heading to Bethel Neighborhood Center in KC for a few days of work!

We arrived at about 1pm, got a short tour of Bethel Neighborhood Center
and then got right to work.
We spent a couple of hours weeding before calling it a day.
We stopped at a grocery store, picked up food
for the next few days and checked in to our vrbo.

Day 2
We met up with about 50 students and their leaders from Bethel Neighborhood Center today to explore the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead. We were split into 2 groups and given tours. Our job was to interact with the students and help corral them as needed. After the Bethel students left, we spent a bit more time exploring before heading back to the house to have a bit of down time before enjoying a meal of tacos.

Day 3
These girls are ROCK STARS!!!
They worked so hard in the heat. Weeds...and more weeds!
After the weeds, we were treated to Slaps Bar-b-que and then we were done. On our way back to the house, we stopped at Roanoke Park and had a blast.
Back to the house to cool down, clean up, eat tater-tot casserole and ice cream, watch the Princess Bride and play a game.
