Health and Beauty Aids

Whenever we need health and beauty aids, we always face a dilemma. That’s because there are just so many outlets that sell the things we love and use all the time. That includes toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, soap, vitamins, and all of that stuff. Frankly, they are just about always being promoted and competitive from one store to the next. If you are a careful shopper, you know that fact and if you just shop at your “favorite” store for them, your success at a great deal is a hit or miss event!

So let me tell you this: I shop them all and I do it from home most of the time. That’s because I can usually get free shipping and even sometimes free same-day delivery too!

Price matters the most to us and the drugstores like Rite-Aid, Walgreens, and CVS all have deals, coupons and store perks with their loyalty cards and discounts every week. So as a matter of routine, if you want to save, then I suggest that you always compare them online (they are the same prices in the store) and always make sure you are a loyalty card valued customer to use those perks too.

This week when shopping for shampoo, I discovered the same day free delivery deal from Walgreens (with no minimum purchase, coupon right on the website!) so we took full advantage of that.

With the myWalgreens discount and perks and their coupons for the shampoo and conditioner, plus the free same day shipping, we decided to stock up and buy multiple bottles. The discount and free same day delivery represented over a 75% discount off the regular prices and even more than that, compared to any other drugstore or supermarket or even Amazon and Walmart pricing!

Whether it’s myWalgreens, the CVS ExtraCare program, or the Rite-Aid Rewards program with its point rewards, they all have their moments of grandeur! The important thing is that you take the ten minutes to compare the items and then save.

We also check the two supermarkets we shop at because
on rare occasions they have the best deals. If you want to save, doing that will make it a sure bet.

9 Steps to Save on Groceries Even When Inflation Is Setting Records!
We are all waiting to hear some good news about the inflation numbers. It seems that on every newscast these days we have to hear about grocery prices going up, gas prices at new all-time highs, and not much news about what we can really do about it all except to buy less and still spend more. But today I feel a little bit like “Superman” because Super Saving Tips is here to save the day! You can save on groceries even when inflation is setting records and I am going to show you how!

How to Save on Groceries During High Inflation

Step #1 – Prioritize your budget

More than ever you really have to think about what you need when you shop. Know what’s necessary and know what can wait. Budget only for your “needs” first and then see if there’s room in there for the “wants” on the list.

Also important is to take a good, long look at your entire budget to see

Why Gift Cards May Suck and Why They Don't!
For decades now, gift cards have become a “basic” for most of us as just another way to shop and give as gifts to our family and friends. I can remember my days as an executive with the Macy Corporation when they became first an idea and then ultimately a real money maker for the company. That was then and the profit motive was in my brain and blood. But when it comes to the reality of gift cards, are there cons to them? I mean, for you, do they actually suck?

Remember Gift Certificates? (Yes, They Still Exist)

I once had to make a presentation to the Board of Directors about expanding the sale of gift certificates at the chain of department stores I worked for back in (as Adam F. Goldberg would say) 1970-something.

Gift certificates, those pieces of fancy paper that were used like money in the stores, were pretty popular, but never as popular as they

Super Saving Tip of the Week:

Fourth of July means summer bargains, and this year may be one of the best sale times in years!

Retailers suffering from high inventories have a huge need to get “out with the old and in with the new” and summer clearances are starting early. Back to school and new fall items are already on the way!

The good news is that with 4th of July sales and Amazon Prime Day deals (yes, they’re back again) rolling out, shoppers can look forward to a Black Friday” in July.

Look at Target, Walmart, Macy’s, JC Penney, Best Buy, and Home Depot for immediate savings on summer and outdoor items. Some items will be at record starting sale prices because of the high inventories.

Expectations are that Prime Day sales on July 12th and 13th, will be a bit better than the 4th of July deals (at least on pricey tech). For everything else on your “summer shopping list”, 4th of July is the event!
