The international community marked World Refugee Day in June by underscoring the importance of high-quality and timely data. The World Bank released new data for 2021 showing that refugee numbers are the highest ever with Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa producing more than half (57 percent) of the world's refugees. Open Data Watch joins these partners in efforts to strengthen statistical systems that will leave no one behind.
