CCHS Newsletter 63 - 4th July 2022
Message from Executive Headteacher
This week sees the inaugural Tour De Codsall take place.        Four exercise bikes have been set up in the hall and the students are representing their houses, cycling for the honour of being the first ever winners of the event.
The house system is a vital part of the way we build community spirit here at Codsall High School and I'm very grateful to the staff for giving up their time and energy to come up with new and challenging ways of doing this.

STUDENT ABSENCE REQUESTS
Just a reminder that student absence requests from parents need to be sent to our http://office@cc-hs.com email account with the form attached, preferably filed in, although emails with information of the leave request are accepted too. Forms are on the policies section of our website, under 'Request for Leave & Guidance Notes'.
Requests go to Mr Harding for his decision, and a letter is then sent to parents / carers.

Thank you

Year 10 - Employability Skills Day @ Cosford
A reminder that Year 10 students will be visiting RAF Museum Cosford this Wednesday 6th July for their Mock Interview and
Employability Skills Day.

All students should wear clothes suitable for an interview (not school uniform) to make the experience more realistic.
Please note that short skirts and high heels are not acceptable, they are unsuitable for interview and for some of the activities that will take place.  No trainers or hoodies should be worn.  Boys can wear school trousers with a different shirt and tie, it doesn't have to be a suit.

All students are required to take along a packed lunch and drinks to last throughout the day.  If your child is entitled to free school meals, please contact Mrs Higgins on   01902 907566 and she will arrange a packed lunch through school.

If you have any questions about the event,
please contact Mrs Higgins.
Thank you for your continued support.

Have your circumstances changed recently?
Parents claiming some benefits can claim free school meals for any of their children who are registered at a Staffordshire school and who would normally be at school at lunch time. School meals are a good way to ensure that your child eats well at lunchtime and you can save yourself time and money.

Even if you don't want your children to have the meals, claiming them helps their school. The more eligible parents who claim meals, the more funding the school receives.

The phone number for the free school entitlement checking service team has changed.  Should you need to contact them regarding any claims queries, their number is now 0300 111 8007  option 3, then option 2
