MSSRF Community Agrobiodiversity Centre Wayanad celebrates its Silver Jubilee 

MSSRF-CAbC in Kerala celebrated 25 years, and to commemorate the occasion, a hybrid international conference on ‘Biodiversity, Climate Change and Adaptation’ on June 5 and 6, 2022, was organised. A Special Newsletter presenting four major outcomes from CAbC work was launched. The conference received much media attention in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Israel shows interest in MSSRF's innovative, science-based solutions  
Consul General of Israel to South India - Ms Tammy Ben-Haim, visited MSSRF to explore collaborations in agricultural and fishery development for Israel. She interacted with scientists at the biotechnology and microbiology labs to have a better understanding about ongoing research

Tripartite agreement for Fisher Friend Mobile App in Srikakulam
MSSRF signs tripartite agreement with Srikakulam district administration and ACE NGO to promote Srikakulam as a model district with Fisher Friend Mobile Application. Five master trainers received tablets to begin work on encouraging the use of FFMA among fisherfolk

MSSRF signs MOU with Gujarat National Law University
The agreement with MSSRF is to promote two-way collaboration in research and policymaking in the areas of Law, Coastal Systems Research, Climate Change, Biodiversity, Biotechnology, Food Security, Education and Communication, also Gender 

Village Knowledge Centres now in Sri Lanka, thanks to MSSRF
Staff of the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security unit from Caritas Sri Lanka received training on setting-up and operationalisation mechanisms of VKCs, a concept first pioneered by MSSRF in  Puducherry in the 1990s. MSSRF has established more than 70 Village Knowledge Centres in India thus far

MSSRF is knowledge partner for the nutrition garden at CMC
The first 1000 Lifetime Nutrition Park and Young Sprout Project was launched at Chengalpattu Medical College, and MSSRF is associated as knowledge partner for the nutrition garden, collaborating with Government of Tamil Nadu

Biodiversity Conserver Award 2022 for MSSRF  

MSSRF is one of the recipients of the 2022 Biodiversity Conservers Award for work done on biodiversity conservation and as a partner of the Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, Government of Andhra Pradesh

Community Agrobiodiversity Centre partners with DM WIMS Kerala

Dr Madhura Swaminathan, Chairperson MSSRF, inaugurated the three-acre Naseera Botanical  Garden project at Dr Moopen's Medical College, Meppadi, Kerala, which will be open to students, botanists and horticulturists for research. MSSRF's Community Agrobiodiversity Centre is the knowledge partner for this initiative

Biju Patnaik Tribal Agro-biodiversity Centre in Odisha, jointly organised a training on Integrated Agriculture for Women Empowerment along with the Institute of Life Science (ILS), Bhubaneswar, to create awareness on reducing drudgery among women farmers by introducing them to gender-friendly technologies

Enhancing skills with hands-on training for scientists  
MSSRF is a grantee of the DBT Biotech KISAN-hub project, and the main hub based in Chennai organised a five-day training on Biofertilizer and Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) production for scientists and young professionals

Every Child a Scientist programme gets its first batch for 2022-23

Meet the first batch of Chennai Corporation school students from Taramani for the academic year 2022-23. The MSSRF programme encourages scientific temper through Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematical concepts, and this is the second year of support from Larsen & Toubro Ltd
