JULY EVENTS & ACTIVITIES AT RPL
HOLIDAY CLOSURE
The Library will be closed on Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, July 5 at 9:30 am.
PROGRAMS FOR ALL AGES

Catch a wave to your library on Saturday, July 2 @ 11:00 am, and join Cindi to learn how you can become a water conservation warrior. Meet some animals that know how to conserve water, animals that cannot survive without water, and animals that live with an abundance of fresh water every day.

Are you brave and quick-witted enough to make it out of the Bermuda Triangle? You and your team can try to beat the clock in the Library's escape room activity on Saturday, July 9 at 11:00 am.

Each group will be staggered to allow everyone a chance to complete each phase of the program.

A Play on Swords is a theatrical troupe providing historical, theatrical, and educational presentations. "Pirates: History vs. Hollywood," is a discussion of the real lives of pirates during the Golden Age of piracy. Meet us in the Activity Room to learn more about pirates on Saturday, July 30 at 11:00 am.

ADULT PROGRAMS
The group will discuss The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel (Historical Fiction) on Wednesday, July 6 at 1:00 pm.
Local author Larry Yoakum III will introduce his latest work of fiction on Thursday, July 7 at 6:30pm. His writing has been described by many readers as Twilight Zone meets L. Ron Hubbard, with just a pinch of Lovecraft thrown in for good measure.
Maker Monday is an in-person craft program for adults every 2nd & 4th Monday night @ 6:30 pm. Adults are invited to learn something new, share with others, seek crafting advice, and meet other makers. Materials are provided free of charge. Ages 14 and up welcome.

Every third Monday of the month at 6:30 pm, chat about any book you've read or listened to recently. Find your next great read and share your favorites with other adults.
Join us every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm for Trivia Night. Put your knowledge to the test with other adults in teams or as a single player. The trivia topic will change each month, so be ready for some competitive fun. Kahoot! will be used to play.
Learn more about making the most of Medicare benefits with a benefit advisor who will be presenting educational information on Friday, July 29 at 10:00 am.
CHILDREN & TEEN PROGRAMS
Family Storytime: For children of all ages who can actively engage on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays @ 10:00 am & 11:00 am. This interactive storytime with books, music, and movement is a high engagement storytime that instills the love of literacy and the Library at an early age. Caregivers also learn valuable information on how to continue building literacy at home. Wednesday and Thursday are a repeat of Tuesday’s program.

Participants will explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with hands-on activities and crafts on Tuesdays @ 2:00 pm. This program is for kids ages 10-12.

Explore exciting tech in these 4-day workshops from Monday through Thursday @ 4:00 pm. Registration and attendance are required for all 4 days to properly complete and understand the project. To register, click HERE.

Test your survival skills and discover the secrets held in the ocean depths in July's Whatever on Wednesday programs at 4:00 pm.

July 6: Survivor: Teen Edition
July 20: Legends of the Deep
Teen Takeover: Teens can come hang out, eat pizza, and watch a movie related to a book on Saturday, July 16 @ 11:00 am. We will discuss the book and the movie (love or hate) in open-minded discussion. This month we will watch Pirates of the Caribbean [PG-13] and read Rise of the Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz.
