Celebrating 75 Years As Your Community Credit Union

Dear Member,

A brief, two-paragraph story in the Aug. 21, 1947, issue of the Tupper Lake Free Press, got right to the point. “Employees’ credit union organized at Sunm’t Hospital,” the headline read. “The Sunmount Federal Employees’ Credit Union was organized Monday night in the [U.S. Veterans Administration] auditorium at Sunmount.”

Since that day seventy-five years ago, we’ve grown, adding the North Country Employees Federal Credit Union in Potsdam in 1989 (and changing our name that year, also, to reflect our wider reach.) and Clinton County Employees Federal Credit Union in Plattsburgh in 2001.

Of course, we owe our longevity to you—and we want to thank you in person to mark our upcoming anniversary. We’ll be celebrating at each of our three locations all day long on these dates:

Thursday, July 14: Tupper Lake
Thursday, Aug. 4: Plattsburgh
Thursday, Sept. 15: Potsdam

Scholarship Winners Annoucned
Adirondack Regional has awarded $6,000 in college scholarships to 10 North Country students. Jenna Stanley, from AuSable Valley High School, and Elisabeth Prairie, from Northeastern Clinton Central School, each received $1,000 each. Another eight students received $500 apiece. Last month, we put out a call for volunteers to serve on our Supervisory Committee. And you responded! Thanks so much to Jess Whitman, Jay Martin and Mary Richer for offering their service to the committee. Brian Dukette, who sits on our Board of Directors, is chairman of the committee.

Parks Come Alive!
Parks Come Alive! is a new summer event series in the City of Plattsburgh that centers on bringing together neighbors for an evening of local drinks, food, music and fun in our local city parks. Join us on the first Thursday of June, July and August from 4:30-7:30PM. This event is family friendly and free to attend. Learn More.

BANK NOTES: Meet Kate Harriman

Kate Harriman, an economics major at St. Lawrence University, figured the best way to figure out her career path in banking was to take the lessons she learned in class and put them to use in the real world. She’s doing that right now at Adirondack Regional, where she’s completing a summer internship.
