Next Steps for Approval of a New MLC Constitution

The MLC Council has completed their review of MLC’s new proposed Constitution.
Following future town hall discussions and additional member input, the congregation will meet to amend and then approve our MLC’s Constitution. The date of that approval meeting will be set by the Council for a Sunday in September or early October. Prior to that meeting there will be a town hall meeting to discuss the final draft. These dates have not yet been set but will be known soon. The final draft has been changed to include the results of the May survey of members. Specifically, the constitution now states that the President of the congregation will be elected from the lay members, while both the Pastor and President are voting members (ex officio) of all committees except for audit committee. The draft constitution continues the requirements of our 2012 constitution for two Congregational meetings per year, each requiring a quorum of 20%.
The current draft constitution is available for review on the Constitution Update Page. If you have questions prior to the town hall meeting, please contact any member of the Council or a member of the Constitution Team: Lee Smith, John Shriver, and Mary Ann Stasiak.

Please help! Worship Assistants Needed for July 24 & July 31
Please volunteer if you are available to help these next two Sundays. Your service is a gift to MLC and signing up early allows everyone to know the slots are covered vs. having to scramble to find someone at the last minute. Thank you!

A Greeter Coordinator is needed. Please if you are able to assist, let Laura Peterson know at worship_music_rep@mlutheran.org

MLC’s Sunday School Classrooms need some Love…

The property and education committees are working together to show some love to our Sunday School rooms and we could use your help!! We will be painting in some of the rooms, hanging up new whiteboards, as well as general cleaning and sorting of supplies. Dates:

Saturday July 23 starting at 9:00 a.m.: Taking down whiteboards and other things from the walls, moving furniture out of rooms, cleaning the walls, spackling if needed, and maybe start painting (pizza lunch provided)

Sunday July 24 starting at 2:00 p.m.: Finish painting, cleaning in rooms, maybe putting some furniture back (snacks provided)

Saturday July 30 starting at 9:00 a.m.: Re-hang whiteboards and other things on the walls, finish cleanup and putting furniture back (snacks provided)

On any of the days, we can also have separate groups working on general cleaning and sorting of supplies in each room to organize and get rid of/replace things that don't work.

Please, to assist us in planning for materials and food, we ask that you fill out this very short form indicating which day(s) you could help and which tasks you are most interested in helping with. Thank you!!
