Monkeypox What We Need To Know

 

 

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL SUMMARY Monkeypox in Ontario: May 20, 2022 to July 18, 2022

 

Toronto Public Health has developed some new MPOX resources which are now available at webpage: www.toronto.ca/monkeypox  
Community agencies and other partners, such as bathhouses, are encouraged to use these materials to help promote MPOX prevention. 

 General MPOX prevention poster

  • Can be used in various settings to inform the public about ways people can reduce their risk.
MPX prevention poster for people who use substances
  • Developed in response to questions from community agencies and harm reduction advocates about reducing MPOX transmission in the context of drug use.
MPOX Self-Screening Poster
  • Aims to expand awareness of MPX symptoms. 
  • In particular, bathhouses and other sex-on-venue premises may be interested in displaying this poster at entrances.
 Checklist for sex-on-venue premises
  • Provides guidance on how to prevent MPOX spread in bathhouses, sex clubs, private sex parties and other venues where sex occurs.

MPOX Factsheet
Summarizes basic information about MPOX which can be shared electronically or printed for residents.

AIDS 2022 Conference

The official pre-conference programme of AIDS 2022, the 24th International AIDS Conference, is now available. 

 

AIDS 2022 pre-conferences will take place on Wednesday, 27 July, and Thursday, 28 July, and will be hosted in person at the Palais des congres de Montreal, Canada, as well as virtually.

All AIDS 2022 delegates can attend pre-conferences. For those who wish to attend only pre-conferences and not the main conference, pre-conference passes will be available for purchase on the registration page here.

Black CAP, in partnership with St. Michael’s Hospital, is hosting an information-session on HIV Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) on
Thursday July 21st, 2022 @ 6pm.

Recruiting community members to join the Mental Health and Addiction working group
The DET OHT warmly invites community members with lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use to join the Mental Health and Addiction (MHA) working group. The vision of the MHA working group is to provide timely, non-stigmatizing and barrier-free mental health and addictions/substance use support delivered in a space or format that is accessible and in a language of one's choice. In short, "people who need services can access the right service at the right time.”
