BCSU's Monthly Prayer Update
Informing you about the ministry of BCSU,
so that you will know how to pray for us.

An Exciting Summer!

We held our inductive Bible study camp "Trilogy" from July 11-17 in the town of Rozhen. This year we studied the first half of the Gospel of Mark - the oldest biography of Jesus, written in a fascinating and dynamic way. The twenty-two students and five staff, who participated in the camp, dug deep into the study with eagerness and dedication from the very first day. Each and every day they were amazed and captivated by God's word, and they discovered anew how excellent, patient and loving is our Lord Jesus Christ.

The event took place in the beautiful Rhodope Mountains. The unique nature and the opportunity to get away from it all along with other students, who were equally excited to study God's word, helped each of the participants to enter deeply into the biblical stories and to get to know the person of Jesus. The eight hours of study each day were interspersed with lots of games, walks in nature, a little trip to the National Astronomical Observatory, a campfire, and plenty of free time for wonderful fellowship and rest.

We want to share with you the testimonies of two of the participants:

"Time spent in the study of the Word is always wonderful, especially when surrounded by other people who are seeking God. This was certainly the case this past week! Looking deeply into the text and understanding God's word as it was originally meant as well as its relevant message for us today was an extremely valuable experience. It touched me deeply and I was blown away by the greatness of God's Word! The knowledge we gained during our study helped us reach depths I never thought possible!" - Anastasia Pancheva

"Trilogy - 'Mark' was an emotional and eye-opening experience for me, through which I was able to overcome fear and get to know myself better. Through the hours spent studying (which never seemed to be enough), I learned more about the great question 'Who is Jesus?". A question that I thought I knew the answer to. I realized to my own dismay that I had taken the treacherous path of hardening my heart and in this study was rebuked for all the times I had turned to Him, then forgotten Him and made my own decisions apart from Him. In addition, this week has given me tremendous encouragement and new knowledge that has helped me to understand more clearly God's message to us. I highly recommend that everyone experience at least one Trilogy and feel the joy of spending time getting to know the person and the work. of Jesus!" - Elisaveta Floreva

Exciting changes

This past academic year was the last for our National Director, Craig Weyrens, to work with BCSU. He has been invited to become part of the IFES Regional Team in Europe. From autumn, Craig will be transitioning into this role where he will work with the student movements throughout the European continent. He will have the opportunity to influence many people's lives in this new role. This obviously necessitates a change in the leadership of BCSU. We look forward to finding out who the new director will be and what God has in store for us in this new season we are entering.

Prayer Needs

  • Pray for the changes in BCSU leadership that the process would go smoothly and that we would see God's leadership and guidance throughout it all.
  • Pray for Craig in his new position! May God use him and bless others through him!
  • Pray that the experience of the students of "Trilogy - Mark" will bear lasting fruit in their lives and that those around them will be blessed as they share and live out what they have learned.
  • BCSU is sending two students to the FORMACION - an IFES European Leadership Conference, which will be held from July 31 to August 5 in Poland. Pray that this time will be blessed and life-changing for them.
