Develop Your Personal Spiritual Life
The means of grace taught by John Wesley are among the ways God works invisibly in each of us. Our giving attention to these hastens, strengthens, and confirms our faith as God’s grace moves in and through us. Wesley divided the means of grace into two categories as “works of piety” and “works of mercy.” The individual works of piety include reading, meditating on and studying the scriptures, prayer, fasting, regularly attending worship, and sharing our faith with others. Communal practices that Wesley recommended include regular participation in holy communion, Christian conferencing (accountability to one another), and Bible study. Resources for the individual practices of reading, meditation and prayer are available from many sources. United Methodist Men (UMM) Meeting
The next UMM meeting is Monday, July 25, 2022, from 8:30-9:30 AM in the Mel's Lone Star Lanes meeting room located at 1010 N. Austin Ave., Georgetown. Please use the west building entrance door located on the I-35 side of the building. All of the men of the church are invited! An optional breakfast buffet is available for $10 per person. Correct cash or check is appreciated.

Something Different—A New Group
You are invited to gather in room 130 (Atkin Learning Center, ground floor atrium) on August 7 for Something Different. The gathering is for those who are not currently members of a Sunday school class, although anyone is welcome to be there. The intent is for us to form an intergenerational fellowship community of people wanting to get to know each other better. New members, those with children in our elementary and student ministries, empty nesters, “olders,” or anyone else simply wanting a snack and a drink are welcome. We plan to organize around the needs of those who gather, so the early conversations will be about how we will spend our time together going forward. If all this sounds ambiguous, it is because we really want this community to be an organic gathering of new and old friends learning to care for each other in new ways. And it leaves a lot of room for God’s grace to flow among us.

Building Our Inclusive, Beloved Community—A Panel Discussion and Prayer Event for Racial Justice in Georgetown
You are invited to a citywide forum and prayer service jointly sponsored by First United Methodist Church of Georgetown and Wellspring United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 7, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Wellspring UMC. Our churches have been engaged in programming, prayer, and actions to unite and build our inclusive “beloved community.” A panel of community leaders will summarize their work on racial justice issues including affordable housing, living wage, public safety, and K-12 education in Georgetown. For those who cannot attend in person, the event will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/wellumc. It is up to each of us to create the environment we want for our children, our community and ourselves.

United Women in Faith (UWF) Lydia Circle Trip to Sager Brown Depot
All women of the church are invited to join the Lydia Circle on a trip to Lake Conroe and the Sager Brown Depot to enjoy a mini retreat/mission trip on August 12–13. The group will leave from the church the afternoon of August 12 and return the evening of August 13. On Friday evening, there will be fellowship and a retreat program. On Saturday, they will check health kits that will later be distributed to victims of natural disasters by UMCOR.
