It's the peak of the Assembly season - so many fun and interesting events coming this week!
It's time for a "Cray, Cray Day at the CSA," this year's Children's Operetta.  Dress rehearsal will be held today, Friday the 22nd at 7:30pm at the Meeting House, followed by the big performance on Saturday at 7:30pm at the Meeting House. The show is free and open to the public, but a freewill offering will be taken on both nights.
Church Service this Sunday, July 24

It's Citation Sunday! The service at 11:00am will be led by The Rev. Dr. Jerusha Matsen Neal, Assistant Professor of Homiletics at Duke Divinity School. She is our 2022 Gibson Lecture Series speaker, and an ordained American Baptist Church (USA) pastor who has served as a Global Ministries mission partner in the Fiji Islands through the United Methodist Church. She has spent her ministry preaching in cross-cultural spaces and bridging denominational communities. Adult Bible Class meets Sunday at 9:00am in the Meeting House South Room, studying the Book of Acts. Choir rehearsal is at 10:00am. Nursery Care is not available this season. Sunday School will be held in the Assembly Building for kids ages 4-12. 
The 2022 Gibson Lecture Series will be held on July 25, 26, 28 and 29 from noon-1pm. Please note there is no session on Weds. July 27 and an additional session on Thurs. July 28 from 7-8pm. The speaker is The Rev. Dr. Jerusha Mattson Neal, Assistant Professor of Homiletics at Duke University Divinity School.  She will talk on "Exilic Hope for a Land in Crisis: Creation, Justice and the Bible."  (click title for an enlarged poster). The lectures are free and open to the public, thanks to support from the Pilgrim Fund.
The 2022 Arts & Crafts Fair is on Wednesday, July 27th from 9:30am - 3:00pm at the Assembly Building and Ballfield   
We are so excited for the 2022 Arts & Crafts Fair! Come join us to shop for something special, and help us raise funds for the CSA and our community. There's still time to volunteer to help. Sign-up sheets are up now on the Assembly Building porch.
The Cottage Treasures presale for Assembly members will be held at the Assembly Building on Tuesday, July 26 from 5:00-6:30pm. Donations can be dropped off on the following days: Friday, July 22 from 9-3, Saturday, July 23 from 12-4, Sunday, July 24 from 12-4, Monday, July 25 from 9-3. 
This year's Silent Auction Baskets include many new themes: Xmas in July, Interlochen tickets to Boz Scaggs with tailgating picnic basket, Crate and Cargo from Beulah, tennis themed basket, area restaurant gift certificates such as Vita Bella and Manitou, Cabi clothing $250 gift certificate, Alister MacKenzie basket with Augusta National and Crystal Downs themed items and much, much more! Basket donations are due to Laura Millar at her home at 607 South Shore by Sunday, July 24. Bidding is from 9am - 1pm on Wednesday in the Assembly Building, with pickup at 2:00pm that day. 
The CSA Bake Sale is back at the Fair this year by popular demand! Bring your baked goods the morning of the Fair and help us raise money. We also need volunteers for the booth in the morning. Contact Barbara Cooper if you have questions at cooperbk228@yahoo.com.
The Adult Art Workshop on Friday, July 29th from 9:30-11:30am will be "Creative Kickstart: Cardmaking" led by Sarah Larson. Using mixed media supplies (provided) and fun creative prompts, we will make greeting cards using your choice of no-fail approaches: Collage, Abstraction, Repurposing and Drawing.

We are thrilled to offer the first ever STEM event for Middle Schoolers ages 10-12 on Friday, July 29th from 1-5pm at the CSA Lounge and on the ballfield. Hurry to sign up for "Interplay with Trubuchets" - space is limited to 15 participants. Register online here.
Youth Citizenship Award Nominations will be collected July 22- August 1. You can complete a google form nomination (click here) or pick up a paper nomination form in the CSA Office.  Please take a few moments to nominate one of our deserving Youth!
Want to learn how to play Pickleball?  Come to PICKLEBALL 101 on Thursday July 28 from 3-4pm on the CSA Crystal Lake tennis courts. Learn the rules, the court set up, what equipment to use, and some tips from our pro instructor, Rick Rodes. No sign-up necessary. Rick will supply paddles and balls (nets are already there). If you have your own paddle, bring it along! This is your opportunity to learn about the game that is catching on all around the globe. Come one, come all!
Summit Fire will be outside of the Assembly Building on Friday, July 29 from 9:30am until noon to inspect fire extinguishers. Please bring your cottage fire extinguishers to make sure everything is up-to-date. No appointment needed.

The annual Burrows-Getz concert will present an Interlochen faculty brass group on Saturday, July 30 at 7:30pm in the Meeting House. Thomas Riccobono will lead these talented musicians in an entertaining program. The public is invited to this free event.
The August Tennis Tournament will be held on August 1-6. Deadline to register is Saturday, July 30th at 3:00pm. A player may sign up for a maximum of two events. Any questions please contact Polly Mauer at 262-367-5795.
The CSA Board of Trustees invites you to “Some Enchanted Evening,” on Sunday July 31 from 7:00-8:00pm at the Meeting House. The event features dessert and coffee to express appreciation for Ken and Cindy Cox’s decades-long service to the community. There will be a brief informal program before we cut the cake. "Beauty and the Beast" is coming to the CSA! The first rehearsal for this year's adult operetta will be on Monday, August 1st at 1:00pm in the Meeting House. Performance is on August 12 and 13. Singers, dancers and actors (9th grade and older) are all needed. Please come to the first rehearsal if you would like to help with props, sets and costumes.
Space is still available for the Nature Explorers Camp, to be held here on August 1-5 from 1:15-4:45pm for kids ages 5-8. The cost: is $160 per child. To register please contact camp director Amalia Celeste Fernand at amaliaceleste@gmail.com.

The Women's Association will host a live event on Friday, August 5th at 7pm in the Assembly Building "PLEASE DO NOT SING: A Story through Poetry and Prose." Veteran stage and film actor, and CSA member, Michael Bofshever returns to the stage in his one-man performance and life story. No charge but contributions are welcome.
