Current Opportunities to Engage with The Carpentries

There are several current options to volunteer with The Carpentries and help us in working towards our mission.

  • Apply to become a Curriculum Advisor - To ensure the accessibility of our lessons and curricula, we are seeking a diverse group of Curriculum Advisors, representing multiple career levels and sub-disciplines, and across a variety of geographic regions, and cultural and linguistic contexts. Apply to become a Curriculum Advisor

  • Centrally Organised Workshops - The Workshop Administration Team is always looking for certified Instructors to teach Carpentries workshops. If you are interested in volunteering as an Instructor please add your name to the signup sheet. Please use the tabs at the bottom of the signup sheet to add your name in any region. Tips for successfully registering a Self-Organised workshop

  1. Use the Self-Organised workshop submission form to register your workshop: AMY: Submit a Self-Organised workshop (carpentries.org)

  2. Submit your form four weeks before the workshop start date. This will give the Workshop Administration Team time to receive and enter it into The Carpentries database, follow up if needed, and schedule the workshop pre-survey result links to go out

  3. Ensure the workshop slug is in The Carpentries format: YYYY-MM-DD-organisation-online or YYYY-MM-DD-organisation

  4. Add the workshop location, including the latitude and longitude
