• Add/Drop will be at the following times:
  • Round 1: Monday Jul 25, 12 noon PDT - Friday Jul 29, 12 noon PDT
• Log in to OLR now to ensure you have access. Please note that while the process is not visible yet, best to check your credentials now to ensure any issues can be resolved before the first round ends.
• Review the Add/Drop Overview. The most common strategy for Add/Drop is adding to waitlists in Round 1 and then waiting until Round 2 to drop. Therefore, little to no movement may occur in oversubscribed courses until Rounds 2 or 3.

Announcements

• Please pay any remaining fees from summer courses in CalCentral.
• An outstanding balance from Summer tuition may affect your Fall registration.

• Fees will be assessed based on your current enrollment (eg. Class of 2023 students will be assessed based on your classes at the end of bidding).
• Per unit fee for AY2022-2023 is $3,600.
• Fall tuition is due Aug 19. Please pay at least 20% of your tuition or sign-up for the Fee Payment Plan by this date.

• If not already, set up your EFT/Direct Deposit account. This is the fastest and easiest way to receive refunds if you end up dropping classes later on and get a tuition refund. If you do not sign up for EFT, normally a paper check is printed and mailed to the address in CalCentral. However, given the uncertainty regarding on-campus services, there may be a significant delay in receiving your check and high potential for it to get lost in the mail.
• Please keep in mind the following formula when calculating your tuition: Number of units you are taking * Per unit fee = Total Amount Due Example: Total Amount Due: 6 units * $3,600 = $21,600
• Reminder for anyone taking electives: As you go through Add/Drop and your number of units changes, your bill will reflect all of these changes. Even if your bill is not "settled" by the payment due date, please use the above formula to determine the amount due to avoid late fees. For those who sign up for the Fee Payment Plan, your installments will adjust accordingly.

• Update: EW298S.1 SIB South Africa will now be in Add/Drop Round 1 only due to a couple of seats that have opened up. If you are interested in taking this course, Round 1 will be your only chance to add yourself to the waitlist.

• New Courses: Four new courses have been added. They have been added to the Fall 2022 Electives Schedule.
  • EW231.1 Corporate Finance - This course is dual listed with the EMBA program and will take place on the EMBA Block Schedule. If enrolled, you will need to attend all class sessions listed on the schedule. Please note that this is the only time Corporate Finance will be offered in the 2022 - 2023 Academic Year. 
  • EW237.2F Decentralized Finance - This is a 3 unit course taught by Christine Parlour. Students can either attend in person on Tuesdays from 10AM-12 noon or attend asynchronously online. 
  • EW291L.11  Leader As Coach - This is a 1 unit course taught by Susan Houlihan and Dr. Mark Rittenberg. It will take place on Sunday Oct 9 and Sunday Oct 30 from 9AM-6PM.
  • EW296.1F Strategically Managing Health Care Policy: Washington Campus - This is a 2 unit week long intensive course taught online by Kim MacPherson in conjunction with The Washington Campus. The Washington Campus facilitates this course from DC so all the times are set for EST. This means that class will take place from approximately 7AM-1PM PST from Nov 28-Dec 2. 

Important Reminders

• The P&T department has activated the "MBA Semester (Fall) NW Permit" in the My P&T Portal. 
  • If you were a permit holder last year, you should see this immediately. This is also a good time to update your vehicle or address information. If not, complete this P&T request form.
  • If your preference has changed from Shuttle/None to Permit, update your transportation preference and complete Step 1 of the Permit Registration Process by Tuesday Jul 19 (if you are an Evening student).
    • It will then take 2-3 business days before the P&T Office can update your account to show the "MBA Semester (Fall) NW Permit" option.

• For Fall 2022, we will be operating the South Bay and Peninsula Route, each with one stop.
• Starting in Fall 2022, all shuttle students must obtain a color coded sticker from the EWMBA Program Office (S440 Student Services Building) to be placed on their Cal 1 Card. When you board the shuttle, you will be required to show your Cal 1 Card to be able to ride.

• Please check CalCentral > My Academics > Status and Holds > Active Holds.
  • Common holds are incomplete vaccination records, incomplete Student Financial Agreement, or overdue fees.
• Fall 2022: Holds must be cleared by Add/Drop in Aug or you will be dropped from all Fall courses in OLR on Wednesday Aug 31.

• Summer grades will be posted to CalCentral in Aug and therefore grade letters should be available mid-Aug or so.

• Request Official Grade Letters here.
• Unofficial Grade Letters will only be provided if your employer will not accept the mid-Aug deadline.

Saturday Scoop

• Core Courses start Aug 6. Elective Courses start Aug 20. Review the Fall 2022 Academic Calendar for key dates.

• There will be Saturdays where classes will be held during Cal football game days.
• Home games for the 22 season are: Sep 10, Sep 24 (Homecoming), Oct 2, Oct 29, Nov 19 (Big Game).
• Parking in Berkeley Law Lot, Underhill, and Foothill will be affected. Please stay tuned for parking logistics on football game days.
