Group Night BBQ
Thursday 28th July, 19:00 at the Kentagon, Brands Hatch
No visiting speaker this month - it's our BBQ!
|
|
|
We all relish the opportunity to ketchup with friends, and the annual KAMG BBQ really cuts the mustard. The deadline for pre-booking food has passed (wurst luck), but you never know - try emailing our very own burger king Simon Adamson or smokin' Tina Underwood as there may just be a cancellation or two. Bar and other refreshments are available. Non-member guests are of course welcome as always. Starts from 7.00pm.

The KAMG Welcome Table
Do you sometimes feel a bit of an ‘outsider’ at Group nights, especially if there’s no-one you recognise when you get there? Whether you're a newcomer or you’ve been a member for years, join Matt Pounds and Paul Chambers at the Welcome Table - at the back of the room with a red table cloth. Come and say hi and stay for a chat.

Bikes in bus lanes
Bikes in bus lanes makes sense in terms of rider safety and traffic flow, yet many councils don't allow it. Particularly confusing in London where some boroughs allow it while others don't. Please consider signing this petition to ask Parliament to reconsider the law. Click here to sign.

Whatever next, self-ride motorcycles?
The autonomous motorcycle is almost with us... radar, lasers and cameras all keeping an eye on surroundings, traffic, speed, acceleration and intervening with the throttle, brakes and steering as needed!. Click here for more.

IAM: 'Raise the fear of getting caught'
IAM RoadSmart says that the 'fear of being caught' needs to be raised in order to help reduce the incidence of dangerous driving as a new law comes into force. This will mean more 'high-profile policing'. Click here for more details.

Terry Friday
As many will know, Terry is the founder of KAMG and its Lifetime President. We received this snippet of news from Christine Lazell of the Maidstone branch of NARPO (National Association of Retired Police Officers) and who looks after the welfare of its members.
|
|
"When I asked Terry if he would like to see the new police bikes his eyes lit up and his wish was granted! His smile couldn’t have been wider as he was helped onto one of the new bikes. Terry was on driver-training way back and was delighted to see the bikes and vehicles now in use. To cap it all Terry (AKA 'The Screaming Skull') was taken for a spin in the newest fleet car and was very impressed with the drive!"

KAMG needs YOU
We are always looking for fresh input. Currently we are particularly looking for help with Green Badge Holders and Observers to help plan and run KAMG social and training runs when they resume.
Please contact Tina Underwood or Joe Mair if you can help.
