Mary <=> Martha!

Dear Friends,

In our liturgy this weekend we hear the story of Mary and Martha, reflecting the classic tension between contemplation and action. How much of our lives should be given over to action and how much to prayer? Join us this weekend to learn more: 5:00 pm Saturday and 10 am Sunday in the church or on Zoom. The Zoom link for worship is always: https://zoom.us/j/98155735623 or dial in by phone at 253-215-8782, Meeting ID: 981 5573 5623.

Martha to share Reflection on the Word. That's right! From biblical times, Martha of Bethany, sister of Mary, has agreed to share her thoughts (through Leif!) after Mass on Sunday. Get your coffee/donut/juice and then come right back to the chapel for her brief reflection, followed by group discussion.

Regarding Gun Violence. On the Feast of the Ascension last May, Fr. Jerry addressed the tragic shootings in Buffalo, NY, and Uvalde, TX. He talked about evil as a “black hole,” an emptiness. As part of the ongoing Growth/Learning Plan on Gun Violence, take a look at the video of Fr. Jerry’s homily (scroll down to the theme: "Watch"). What do you think of his characterization of evil as a black hole, an emptiness?
