Sailing

Hello everyone

With average winds of 32 knots and gusts over 40 knots at times in the afternoon it was a good call from our Race Officer Noel on Saturday to abandon the Brass Monkey races.  Given that and the air temperature, I don't believe there were any complaints, however a few brave Dragon Force sailors did venture out on Sunday.

Next Brass Monkey races will be Saturday 30 July which will be race seven of nine in the series.  That tells me that that we must be getting closer to our new summer season.  To that end, we have a sailing calendar 98% confirmed with both RYCV and RMYS and have a proposed season start towards the end of September.  The calendar will be released soon with a Race Information Presentation scheduled for 22 September.  More details to follow.

We are seeking interest any members who would be interested in providing 'boat driver' duties for our Committee boats during race events.  Please refer to the article further in this news letter.

Safe travels to Colin, Stephen and Chris as they deliver Ikon up north.  They should be in Bass Strait as we all read this having left very early Tuesday morning.  I hope that is not news to you Bruce...
